Hi guys. I have been looking for a forum which is about warhammer 40k and have found you!
I'm from england and im 14. I'm studying for my gcses and in the meantime i'm learning c++ programming. I also enjoy photoshop design, video editing and tennis.
I decided to collect tyranids (this was before the 5th edition codex came out, which has decreased my liking in tyranids). I decided to go with nids since i find it amusing rushing up and raping everything in my path during battle. Although I also enjoy long range shooting which was why it was hard for me to decide between tau and nids.
My favorite memory during a battle was when i was playing a battle against someone in a tournament. It was a crucial roll for them and they rolled all ones on about 7 dice! They just walked out the room and guessed they wern't coming back :D.

Thanks for reading and i hope to make friends with some of you

Welcome. I actually like the latest Tyranid book a lot more than previous editions (3rd had the cool mutable genus rules, but 4th was very unimpressive). What in particular don't you like, I'm sure folks around here could help you out.
Well one of the things i dislike the most would be that tyranids are very vulnerable to shooting because of their poor armour saves.
Although there are still some aspects of the codex which i still like.

That's the nature of the army, lots of little gribblies aren't going to be very durable.

Making good use of cover (from other models, terrain or Venomthropes) as well as utility powers like Catalyst can go a long way to keeping you bugs alive. Popping in off of board edges or by Deep Striking helps too. And, of course, charging into HtH as quickly as possible is a good way to avoid getting shot.

yeah, termagaunts are very good meat shields aswell, although i guess you can shoot over them at the bigger creatures such as the warriors
