Since you're starting out, you'll need to focus on getting a basic legal army in place. Forget about all the unbounded shenanigans for the moment and simply start with a decent HQ like a Tervigon and plenty of Termagants. That'll keep your opponents occupied in small game while the Tervigon continues to spawn each turn.
The idea will be for you to get used to playing a horde army (which is what the Nids are) before progressing to large point game. Get used to the rules and concept of synapse and instinctive behaviours for the units before moving on to more interesting tactics. Zoanies as lancing backup is always good anyway!
