Hi, I have come across this site and joined in as it seems to be fun. I have been playing 40k for about 5 years, have a 3,000 pt Iron Warrior army (inspired by Storm of Chaos), also play with Tyranids and have just started an Eldar army. I also play WHFB, which I swore I wouldn't and have a 6,000 pt Dwarf army, and also 3,000 pt Vampire Count and Tomb Kings also. I have just taken the plunge and started an Orc & Goblin force.

I run my local gaming club and we hold inter club tournaments all year round, its nice and friendly and i can now tell them all about this forum so hopefully they will join too!.

Well thats anough waffling for now, great to be here!

cheers

howdy!

Noticed your based in southampton - whats it like for gaming down that neck of the woods? Reason been is that i may well be moving down there from Manchester (gonna get a nose bleed for passing south of nottingham i know it) during the summer due to my fiance (hopefully for her) getting a job at IBM in Winchester. Which i understand aint far out of southampton.

Whats the local GW like for gaming? I'm quite spoilt in Manc with my 3 vets nights a week, obviously may not be that good but whats the gaming level and attitude (most important to me) lik ein store.

And for that matter the same goes for clubs (if any) around there.

Last I heard, albeit a good time ago, my father's first wife--my mother being his second (although she's since remarried)--got remarried to either the head or one of the head IBM folk at Winchester. Just thought I'd throw that in there. On a side note I was born in Winchester.

the gaming in store at portsmouth is rubbish it used to be brilliant but all the store staff left and there is only a couple of members there now who are worth the time of day. As for Southampton itself I don't know because where I live is caught in the middle of the 2 stores, I do know that the manager is cool, whether that is a reflection on the rest of the staff, well it's mak you own mind up time. As I said i personally run my own gaming club, but if you are moving to Winchester then it might be a little bit to far away for you, which is a shame, thanks for all the kind words though, and yes I born near Birmingham, so coming down south can be a nightmare, you just have to get used to it 9my wife is from Portsmouth!!). :D
