I'm just curious. I've seen several gamers drop 300-500 quid at a time on the latest and greatest toys for Apocalypse. Myself, well I haven't, though not for lack of desire to own the latest releases. I'd just like to sleep at home tonight.

How about you?

personally, i started an eldar army after reading the book (and getting staff discount) which i've spent £200 (retail) on, which i wouldnt have done otherwise.

its just such a good time to start... the boxes are really really nice, esp some of the direct only boxes, so i just had to take advantage..

Unfortunately it has affected my spending a bit, going up to a few things every visit rather then one or 2 things of troops every couple visits and a tank once in a blue moon

Yes indeed, though I got some good deals for my stuff.

So far the casualty list includes these;
- chaos terminators box
- chaos terminator lord
- new chaos space marine box
- chaos spawn
- 3 boxes of gaunts
- 4 boxes of tyranid warriors
- 1 brood guard
- some loose nid pieces from ebay (rippers, scythes etc..)
- Ambul, classic nids of ebay
- a Lictor (no need for him, but I figured what the heck why not )
- Carnifex
- was something else but I can't remember :worried:

EDIT - Remembered again, a box of new genestealers for like 8 quid :D

The good new is that this pretty much covers everything for the chaos boys and the nids!

I haven't really spent much since last year (2006) I intend buying more tactical marines for my marines and finishing my Necron but I was going to do that anyway so no Apocolyse hasn't really effected my spending.

I just dropped around 600 USD (so about 350 pounds, for you UK folks) on Apocalypse. Space Marine Company, Baneblade, Gamer's Edition, and...about twenty bucks' worth of glue and primer, because I have about a quarter of a can of each left, and with upwards of 200 models... yeah. Incidentally, my Space Marine Company had too many Tactical Sprues in it (somebody wasn't counting!) so I have 35 extra Space Marines. woot.

I haven't bought anything new for Apoc yet and it is looking like I might not in the end anyway. Most of the people here are not really interested in the game at all, the price of the book and the templates alone have some folks really pissed actually, so I won't have anyone to play it with by the looks of it :(

mines going to shoot up, considering im starting a new army (Chaos) for both 40k and Apocalypse, so about 75 buks every 2 weeks is going towards my army :p which should help it build rather quickly. however this is also due to a new job.

and hopefully in the not to far future i shall be getting a second job at my local GW retailer, not an actualy GW store, just a retailer, so that means more money and discounts so god knows wats going to happen to my spending then!!!

The only way its affecting me is that I am getting a bunch of stuff all at once instead of just a few things over a long time. But even than its not really APOC stuff, just three immolators which I am getting a bulk tank deal from.

Not really. I'm scratch building the super heavy stuff with my flatmate, and I've just finished a batch of spending that had to happen regardless of Apocalypse.

Not really. Not yet. But it will, I'm sure. The dozen or so (each) of Blood Angels and Imperial Fists I have lying around might become viable little forces to ally with other SMs; same with my Imperial Guard. That might push the spending up over the next few months.

On the other hand, I might just end up buying fewer orks. It's hard to call.

the thing is, if youre planning a new army in the near future, of practically anything, now is the time to shop for it, because the deals we're doing, instore and through direct, are not permanant.
