im creating an imperial guard legion any one have suggestions for a commando themed regement

take the grenadiers doctrine which allows you to take up to 6 units of stormtroopers. that would be a good start anywho.

Doctrines you may wana look at taking a selection of would be these:

- Grenadiers (combine that with ST Restricted Troops to get your 6 ST units)
- Hardened Fighters
- Carapace Armour
- Cameloline
- Drop Troops
- Iron Discipline
- Veterans
- Special Weapons Restricted Troops
- Ratling Restricted Troops

Take any combintation of that and I'd say you pretty much had it Commandoy from a fluff point of veiw.

doctrine points are your friends here

i have commando guard army myself and i took the carapace armour and cameoline doctrine. you also might want to consider giving them sharpshooters too

Stormtrooper rushes fit the style of commando all-out assault, but for more covert operations, you'll probably want something a little more subtle. Veterans with Carapace are essentially Stormtroopers but with tactical flexibility.
