Hello all!

I'm one of those most wretched of 40K players, a Genestealer Cultist. For years my Genies tore through the ranks of the enemy, but then came 3rd Edition, and university, and a wife, and I drifted away.

But I've been given a vaguely-modern-rules-legal Cult list (from Citadel Journal) and I'm thinking of dusting off the old Cult, so I'm easing myself in by joining some online communities, none of which were around when I was playing. :wink:

hello, welcome back! iv never played against or even seen a genestealer cult, its an interesting army choice!

My main tactic, I think, is to exploit the fact that hardly anyone's played against them, and play on the unexpected!

Cults were deadly in RT and 2nd Ed (Rhino Rush with Genestealers anyone?), but I haven't used the army since then, so I don't know how well they work nowadays. The 3rd/4th Ed statline for a Genie looks a bit anaemic in comparison to the days of yore... :wink:

Hiya kelvingreen! I used to play the Cult pretty frequently in smaller 2nd Edition games. They were actually pretty good...sort of like Imperial Guard with some especially nasty melee options. Anyway, I hope to hear more about your 'Stealer experiences. May the heads of your Magusi grow round with wisdom! 8)

Well believe it or not there is a gaming scene down here(I have yet to get my troops on a board though) and theres even a GW shop here, I do understand its the most southernly in the world!But he only gets a delivery in every six months and he cant get hold of spraypaint at the mo so it dose have a few draw backs being down here!

Yes black chaos spray!!!I've tried using other stuff but it shines too much Glad to hear its not just down here that we have the shortage

lol, i forget, but isnt NEW ZEALAND lower than Falkland Islands becuase we sure have a GW here, so we can claim we have the most southern, i hope.

Alas, a quick glance at my map suggests that the Falklands are more southern than New Zealand. The Falklands are about level with with the Auckland and Campbell Islands at your end of the world, so unless there's a GW shop down there...

The other question is if the Falklands shop is an official GW... :wink:

Hey hey man welcome, there is actually a GW shop in Wellington - just thought I'd through that into the debate.

Cultist armies have always intrigued me, when you manage to dig them up would you mind taking some pics of the old relics would love to see them

Yes, I think I'll get some pics of my old 1st/2nd Ed army before I start converting and repainting them for my new force.

I suspect there's going to be a lot of converting and scratch-building going on, so assuming I don't make a pig's ear of it, I'll post WIPs now and then.

Thats a good point Im not sure if the shop is an official GW one?Viscount Vash keep nagging me to do and interview with the shop owner(Which i plan on doing when I can get in to Stanley)and I will find out then,But I might have to change my statement to the most southernly suppler of GW :!:
