Tiny cliffs always look good, on a table or in real life - a (size 2-3) hill with a cliff on one side, only about 2" high and about 4-6" long, especially if it's curved like a cresent into the hill, maybe a bit like a very small quarry.
God I hope you can visualise that. It looks good in my head, honest. (Actually, if you know what the Hobbit holes in the Scouring of the Shire book look like, a bit like that. But a cliff, not a door.)
