Lol, not quite 32 books, but there is definitely a few. 3 in the Founding cycle, 4 in the Saint cycle, and 3 so far in the Lost cycle. One or two more are left in the Lost, so hopefully it hits the fan. I agree, Brin Milo AND Agun Soric would be great to see again. It's been years now since both left the Ghosts, moreso for Brin. They could both be tempered psykers now, Brin being a stronger one. Soric's ability to see the future with his message tube was an amazing idea and just the thought of it was creepy sends shivers.
Of course, it would be even better to see the return of Colm Corbec... Damn that Cuu, who was also a wickedly cool character, but he got his sure as sure.
Soric was an awesome character. I'd love to see him make a comeback.
I totally used the message in a cannister in a 40k RPG I ran using the Savage Worlds system, (with a bunch of players who hadn't read the series). The team was a bunch of Inquisitorial Retinue guys and a Deathwatch Marine. The odd one out was a IG sniper who somehow found a "cannister" that gave her "advice".
Man I love the series. Here's to hoping it goes out with a bang...instead of a whimper.
no we still have daur, rwarn, mokoll, kola, 2 craidds; little and mum, gunt, hark, ludd, varl, brostin, larks, banda, nessa, mkvenner, bonin, cruth, dorden, hawlen, maggs, kosium, baskivle and theres more but i forget
Matt if you want to i have all the current books myself, can lend you them. They are well worth a read, tbh Abnett is the 40k fiction writer i find worth bothering to read.
Also i hope the next book is better than armour of contempt, sorry i found that piss poor. Its was like he had to do a book so just threw something together. There was non of the usual build up and tension Abnett normally displays, he start in the training camp etc was good but once they made planet fall it all went a bit too quick, too easy and utter lack of the usual tension he displays.
The whole going out into the Untill and the events that happen there and then basically going "oh ok you screwed me but i'm ok with that, come on guys back to the shipss" was a crap way to end a book.
Sorry really felt like i had wasted time and money there, the first time i have felt that with an Abnett book. Had to go and re-read Isenhorn again to re-afirm my belief in him.
