Well, I don't know that he needs much introduction. This was painted for a commission (and my client seemed quite pleased).

I know what gen.ahab means, I don't like this model either. It just looks like he's off for a walk in the park to me, the Avatar with the spear is a much nicer model and looks much more agressive in my opinion.

But either way that's a fantastic paintjob odin! Brilliant work as always.

I don't like the avatar of khaine in general but if it's going to look like a giant, pissed off, flaming rabit it shouldn't be put into a pose that looks like it's prancing through a field of posies. But like I said, great paint job.

There are a lot of people who feel the same way about this Avatar mini. Personally, I don't have any problem with the pose or mini (he was a lot of fun to paint) but you aren't alone.

I'm curious, do you feel the same way about the spear wielding Avatar?

To be fair, I professionally painted this model for a client of mine. It is the highest quality single mini commission that I've done (by quite a large margin). I normally paint whole armies in the time he took.

He's meant to be on par with some of the minis I'm painting for the P3 Grandmasters at Gencon (judging by the reception, he is). I'm sure I'll start showing those off sometime next week when it is all over.

I can see that. His walking pose does remind me of a videogame walk, for some reason. Like he was modeled closely after the Avatar in Dawn of War.
