Forge world released the Dimchron, Dmarcron, Dimchroyn. . . that thing that's in the armor four edition two for preorder.
And it's bloody big!

Well fluffwise, nids incorporate various DNA but they are still all derived from the core tyranid genus.I really dont like it, the twin claws look silly, the head armour looks stupid and a chest mouth really feels forced, but the worst part is it just looks like every other nid, im sure the talented people at FW could make something much more original while still feeling and looking like a nid.
Frankly, if they threw out a nid model which looked nothing like a tyranid, there would be even more complaints.True enough, doesnt mean its a good idea or that they have to stick to it
Well that's up to you, but are you a tyranid player?or that I have to like it, I still think the beast looks like they are scraping the bottom of the nid ideas barrel.
Exposed ribs, segmented carapace armour plates, teeth, beady little eyes...The Barbed Hierodule they compare it to in the pictures actually looks quite different from your standard Tyranid, doesn't it? I actually think that picture makes the Dimachaeron look a lot worse...
Fair enough. The lore behind the new creature makes it out to be a variant on the lictor's role, that of targeted assassination. Only this thing goes about it in a far less subtle manner. It's likely the spindly appearance is to tie it to that role. Something large and brutal, but more agile and less cumbersome.Of course. I never said it didn't look like a tyranid. I feel it just looks different from your standard bugface. I think the Hierodule is visually more appealing than the new beast. While I do agree with bitsandkits, albeit less severely, I think the Hierodule is an example of the originality he mentioned. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
