Space Marine Infantry Upgrade Sets Available to Pre-Order Now:

MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour Set

Mk III Iron ArmourLeading this weeks’ batch of Space Marine releases is the impressive MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour Set, available to pre-order now. This intricately sculpted full resin kit, designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas, provides enough parts to build 5 Space Marines in MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour, including two different sets of legs, shoulder pads, arms, torsos and helmets.

This pattern of power armour was developed towards the end of the Great Crusade, using advanced technologies recovered by Astartes forces from scattered Forge Worlds across the Imperium. Despite being intended as the pinnacle of power armour technology, and containing many advanced systems, MkIV armour remains a valued rarity among most Chapters.

You can see the components of this resin kit here, along with a photo gallery showing examples of how these brilliant parts can be combined with other Forge World resin accessories such as our Bolter sets and Special Weapon packs.

The MkIV ‘Maximus’ Armour can be pre-ordered now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

Umbra Ferrox Pattern Bolter Pack
Umbra Pattern BoltersLike the Umbra Pattern Bolter Pack, the Umbra Ferrox bolter variant was mass-produced by Chapter Techmarines in order to ensure a continuous supply of arms and munitions during the dark days of the Horus Heresy. The Ferrox-pattern weapon exchanges the sickle clip for a box magazine, allowing for a greater ammunition capacity. The weapon features an inbuilt long-range gun-sight, incorporating additional Target Reciprocator Systems that mesh with the Autosenses of power armour.
These detailed weapons are perfect for converting Sternguard Veteran Squads, their larger magazines representing the capacity to choose between the various special ammunition types detailed in Codex: Space Marines.

Click here to see the parts and accessories supplied in this pack. The Umbra Ferrox Bolter Pack, designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stutcinskas, contains 10 detailed weapons and optional combat blades, and can be pre-ordered now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

All these fantastic new releases, in addition to the Caestus Assault Ram, MkIII ‘Iron’ Armour, Umbra Pattern Bolters and Special Weapons, are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing August 23rd.

Additional Web Content Now Available
Following our recent update to the Imperial Armour Volume 5 Renegades and Heretics army list, we’ve prepared an FAQ document that’s available as a free PDF here. As always, we welcome all your feedback so please don’t hesitate to e-mail or call us if you have any questions.

Our Studio area will be manned by Paul Rudge, Forge World Book Production Manager, who will be showcasing final proof copies of the forthcoming, secret Imperial Armour project. We can’t tell you much more about this for now, but stay tuned to future newsletters for more details…

Beat me to it lol. After seeing the Mk3 Crusade Armor, and now the Mk4 Armor, I'll definitely have to start work on that Pre Heresy Luna Wolves army.

what can i say...

its been a life long dream to be the first person to post a Forge World newsletter. and that day has finally come.

on topic:

those suits are amazing aren't they. and i love the alternate back packs and weapons. i wish they'd show a pic of someone holding the missile launcher. i wonder if they're going to release Crusade armour.

@ yanlou: the special weapons pack is available for pre-order in the 'new stuff' section.

That MKIV armour does look pretty snazzy, and those bolters aren't that bad either.

Oh thank goodness that means i don't have to buy the red scorpy's squad just to get the armour But it bothers me why the heck they couldn't do the armour earlier before the red scorpy's came out with there own version of it

Gw, and by extension FW, plan releases months, if not years, in advance. They probably wanted to see how the red scorpions did before they came out with the max pat armor.

I was thinking the same, or maybe some pre-heresy word bearers, world eaters or death guard.

I prefer the MK3's to this armour,
really?

each to their own i guess.

but then i'm a bit put off by the MkIII Iron armour helmets. that's not my favourite design of helmet (it looks too much like MkII Crusade armour to me). i would have liked to have seem some of the massive variety that MkIII helmets were given in the Horus Heresy artwork, or at least helmets in-keeping with the original metal models.

i'm not complaining though. they are excellent and long overdue.

anyone notice this bolter ?
i had, but not given it much thought. its a more modern design than the other bolters, so i would guess its one to go with Heresy armour.

i wonder if they will release a MkVIII Errant squad as well?

maybe they'll release differnt versions of Terminator armour as well, so that you can finally make a pre-Heresy Thousand Sons army like the art work!

But it bothers me why the heck they couldn't do the armour earlier before the red scorpy's came out with there own version of it
the actual reason for the release order is because of the odd relationship between GW and FW. basically, the two are effectively seperate companies answering to the same overall manager. the guys who work for FW, don't work for GW, but GW does have dominance in the relationship. if GW plan on working on a project they tell FW to stay clear, and FW have to.

the chances are that with the success of the HH novels GW were thinking that they might release power armour varients. meaning that if FW wanted to work on other armour types they had to do it in the guise of another project, hence the RS. but after a couple of C:SM in quick succession the GW plan never became a reality and FW finally had the embargo removed.

because of this relationship the management of the two companies don't get on. GW sees FW's releases as ridiculous and not in keeping with the themes and ethos of the 40kiverse (mostly because they're not allowed to exlpore the 40k background, as GW will simply say 'we're working on that'). and FW see GW as controlling and unhelpful.

honestly, someone needs to go in there and smack everyone. its a pain in the backside. they need to work together for the good of the gamers. FW should have been releasing stuff like this from the start. not just an infinite number of mildly different IG tanks.
