Howdy folks. Been a while since I've posted a list here, so here goes:

1750 Pts - Blood Angels Roster

Heavy Support: Dreadnought (1#, 121 pts)
(Searchlight; Twin Linked Autocannon; Twin Linked Autocannon)

Heavy Support: Dreadnought (1#, 121 pts)
(Searchlight; Twin Linked Autocannon; Twin Linked Autocannon)

About the only thing I'm not sure about is the Sanguinor, but I've been wanting to give him (or Mephiston) a try in a Mechanized list.

Basically, the plan is to roll forward firing tons and tons of shots from the Razorbacks, Baal Predators and Dreadnoughts while looking for favorable assault opportunities. The squads inside the Razorbacks will look to nab objectives where possible while the big unit in the Rhino looks for faces to beat in. The Sanguinor mostly plans on hanging out in a place where he can be seen and tanking shots, preferably from anti-tank weaponry. The more lascannons and such that people point at him the longer my Predators and Dreadnoughts will last. Also, since he has an awesome armor save (and will be kept nice and near the Razorback with the Priest inside) he'll be relatively unbothered by small arms and anti-infantry firepower.

Thoughts?

Hey Katie... I think the Sanguinor is the weak link in your list... he's just too expensive.... If you're determined to run him, then I think you'd be better off running him in 2K since you can bring more the other units to cover the 275 point sink easier than you can at 1750.

Also, I think Space Wolves and Codex do this type of shooty list better.... For comparison, my 1750 codex list looks like..
  • Libby
  • 2 x 5 Tac Squad in TL Las Razorback
  • 1 x 10 Tac Squad in TL Las Razorback
  • 3 x Rifleman Dreads
  • 3 x Melta/Typhoon speeders
  • 3 x Autolas Predators

By dropping the Sanguinor, you'll free up enough points to bring more threat to your list... Again for comparison, your list is currently brining 7 real threats every turn (which feels on the low end for a shotty list at 1750) vs. the dozen in my stock codex list...

But at the end of the day, it's the player and not the list.... so please let us know how the Exemplar of the Host works out....

Yeah, I'm actually of the same opinion. But I'm determined to give him a shot, just to see if it works. If he doesn't (and he probably won't) I won't have any issues exchanging him for something else.

I see what you mean, but the idea behind this list is to advance quickly and shoot. Wolves and Codex Marines can't do that because they don't have Fast vehicles. Also, there's a chance I'll be packing a unit of jumpers once the Sanguinor falls flat on his face. ;)

EDIT: Also, I'm sort of working with the models I own because I frankly can only barely afford to even play this game anymore, so acquiring new stuff is difficult. It's far from an optimal list, but I'm doing what I can.

Normally I don't double post, but fuck it. I just had an idea.

(2 Sanguinary Priest in Power Armour; Lightning Claw)

Heavy Support: Dreadnought (1#, 120 pts)
(Twin Linked Autocannon; Twin Linked Autocannon)

Heavy Support: Dreadnought (1#, 120 pts)
(Twin Linked Autocannon; Twin Linked Autocannon)

Okay, get this. We drop the stupid Sanguinor because he's entirely too expensive and we grab a second Librarian instead. Both Librarians get jump packs. We add in a couple suicidal melta squads for Descent of Angels "land in your face and melta it off" fun and kick a Baal Predator to the curb because frankly there's a good amount of AP4 going on here as it is. Also, we grab a couple Priests to help the Razorback squads in assault and an Attack Bike to use up the last 50 points.

Now the Librarians hang out behind the vehicles casting Shield and using their jump packs to keep up. The Librarians will be safe from most shooting and can protect the vehicles in the army. When it comes time, they can hop over the transport and join the Assault Squads, then charge something to make the entire (admittedly small) unit hit really freaking hard. Against heavily mechanized armies, the Librarians can hang out with the jumpers instead and add their Blood Lances to the DSing melta surprise.
