I just got the IG codex, so I decided to take a stab at writing a 2000pt list for my traitor guard to get an idea of what I should be adding to my army. Im new to guard, so tell me what Im doing horribly wrong because Id rather know now than later.

That's a pretty sweet list; nice one.

Couple of things however:

The CCS could do with better guns... a grenade launcher? Tragic waste of their higher ballistic skill :) Plasmagun or meltagun, or keep it cheap and not bother with any weapons.
If you can get another transport for them then that's excellent as they are a squishy squad and an easy kill point.

You should get a vox somewhere in the first platoon.

The second platoon I would ditch the missile launchers to spend the points elsewhere; you currently have a very static army and will find it tough taking objectives in the enemy half of the table - keep this platoon mobile and the commissar will help them stay around for a long time.

I would probably get rid of the Vanquisher - it's not a very good tank. For another 5 points you could get an Executioner with hull lascannon as it looks like you will come unstuck when you run into any 2+ save nasties and the Executioner will help massively there.

I'm not a fan of sponsons on my LRBT; keeping them static is a sure-fire way of getting it wrecked in CC.
