I had my first game vs. last saturday. I tell you what. I have never been as bored for the first half of a game as i was that game. We had a capture and control mission spearhead deployment. (sieze ground whatever it's called). Aside from blowing up both his fire prisms on the first turn the next 3 turns till i got into combat were the most boring turns of my life! i bet he felt the same when when 2 rhinos with 10 zerkers piled out next to his objective holding squad on turn 4 though... Let's just say he conceded when the game continued onto turn 6... MUHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

what i'm getting at is what armies do you like to play and what armies haven't you played against with what army?

woog out!

I love smashing tau and eldar with my chaos marines, (tau cus they are just so bad at combat, and eldar because of the massive amount of T3 goodness to squish)

Though I Haven't got to fight the crons or inquisition yet, and i dont want to D:

I love playing orks. One of my friends that I play against often uses a huge block of 30 lootaz with big shootas. It's pretty nasty to get nailed by that, even with low BS, they can still put out some hurt. With my Khorne army, however, I usually take 2 defilers and 1 vindicator. Those ordnace templates really put the pain on big blocks of orks. Then it's mop up time with the zerkers and Kharn.

I love playing against Orks, mainly because of the people who play them. They're the only ones who don't look at the game as a passtime activity or a make-or-brake competitive game, but they tend to play with passion and immersion (or perhaps empathy would be a better word?), even if their dice are in that time of the month. The others are either too emotionally detatched (mostly burned out or laid back) or competitive, or the odd guy who likes the fluff but tries to build a strong army so he could manage to pull off something that could be described as a victory.

Oh and back then when there were Tau players in my LGS it was lots of fun to play against them, none of them had a clue how to properly play them (meaning: they thought that a gunline is going to work), and when my Marines crashed into them like a cannonball there wasn't much left to do just going through the close combats and through a few handfuls of dice. Never lost a game against them, though in retrospect I'm less and less proud of this, and more sad. But still, it was fun. :p

Orks.Thiers nothing as satisfing as watching your boys get stuck in, your lootas lay down the hurt, and bikers smash aside the enemy. I Love playing against nids with them as my mortal enemy plays nids and the mob mentalltly of both armies makes for a nice fight.

I've played Guard, Eldar, SM (spikey and otherwise), tau, necrons, daemonhunters, tyranids all with my eldar. Won some games, lost others, drew some others.

Guard that don't go first tend to die badly to eldar shooting.
I've had berserkers and genestealers both fall to the charge of banshees.

Other times, the banshees have been taken out by grots.

The vagaries of the dice, it what it comes down to.

I just love using a harlequin list against any opponent (3 harly squads maxed out with shadowseers and accompanied by Karandras and Fuegan (for tank hunting) backed up by pathfinders in my deployment zone. I love playing any kind of shooty army as they can target either the cloaked harlies or the pathfinders who just laugh whilst shouting 2+ cover save muther f*****!!!!!
