This may seem pointless to some people but I was thinking about the fact there are so many weapons in the 40k, so I just what anybodies favourite was?:grin:

thats a tuffy there are so many to choose from. I would have to say a Necron warscythe, the best combat weapon in the damn game :grin:. Or a gun...ummm a bolt pistol, simple weapon.

Power claws for sure, they look awesome and in books they just sound cool to when killing things.
The las gun

the las gun is great...tau commander laughes at you..."haha 2+ save"..okay hold on lets see you roll...oh ya 12 6+'s.... that'll teach you to get in rapid fire range.
and well flamers are just sweet.....kiss your high point units hiding in cover good bye.

Soz I didn't say mine!
It would have to be, for shooting the melta gun (kills anything, and bbqs them for later!:laugh
or for combat, the good old Daemon Weapon (ah... a possible 10 power weapon attacks...)

sadly my favourites are gone..
being the Dreadaxe, axe of khorne, plagueswords and offcourse my alltime favourite the Khorn Chainaxes!!
up to date weapons :
shooting : plasma, always fun, like said before Death on both ends.
Close combat : good old powerfist.. SPLAT you're dead lol

Bolter. Keep it simple. Plus, who doesn't like a .70 caliber round punching into enemies, and then promptly exploding?

Without doubt it has to be the Tau Missile pod for me, particularly the twin linked variety. Nothing beats the ability to put everything from Terminators to Monstrous Creatures to Vehicles in their place from 36 inches away. The other weapon I love is the Carnifex Tusked+Scythed+Crushing combination. "That's how many strength 10, armor ignoring attacks? Oh dear Lord..."

mines the melta, pure burniness, and awesome for killing practically anything.

CFreak, make sure you read the new rules aswell, try avoid things like PWNZ. i know it seems minor because its one word, but it leads people to saying up to whole sentences like that.
not trying to be titchy about it, just keeping this forum as it is, because its bloody brilliant.

A Plasma Gun on a Space Marine I'm very fond of -- it's good to see the new Chaos Codex has them 5 points more than Meltaguns meaning the upcoming SM Codex should also, both are great but Plasma guns are overall a fraction better. Less common (and sometimes hampered by being Heavy) but more fun is the Plasma Cannon. These things are white hot death and I love the look of dread on my opponent's face when I'm about to fire it at his Terminators etc.
Assault Cannons rock sure, but the Rend rules are cheesy imo, so whilst I use them they just don't do it for me as much in the fun department as plasma.

most favorite as far as what I use most in my lists?
Meltaguns and Powerfists. Plasma is nice, but Meltas are stronger, more reliable and can be used without blowing you up or denying a charge. I play BA, so getting into 12" is easy. And Powerfists...god, you'll never see a Power Weapon in my list if I can buy a fist for the same guy...though Thunderhammers and Paired LCs have their uses, if you can get them.
For Tau, I really like Sniper Drones, but mechanics wise, yeah, gotta go for the Plasrifle and Missile Pod (Fireknife FTW!) or the good old fashioned Railgun.

Humm...chainsword, maybe...you just can't beat a fucking chainsaw sword on the cool factor. Or a Power Sword. Bolt pistol would be cool...but man, Pulse Rifles are just intimidating.
