Still want to see Children of Men. My favourite movies are

Aliens\Lord of the Rings Trilogy

These two are my all time favourites with Aliens holding the clear lead for YEARS until LotR came out. Now they are tied. And I have seen Aliens an ungodly amount of times (worn out 3 vhs tapes until dvd came out). Others I love in no particular order are:

300
The Matrix Trilogy
Pirates Trilogy
Interview with the Vampire
Bram Stokers Dracula
The Howling
Underworld

Hell, so many I could list.

Children of Men was..disappointing!

It ended so abruptly!

I love Saving Private Ryan and The Fifth Element.

Blade Runner.

Androids, Raymond Chandler, speculations on the nature of memory and identity, exotic dancers with snakes, Harrison Ford being beaten to a pulp (several times)... what's not to like (except Rachel's hairstyle)?

Anph - if your a fan of SPR and don't mind reading subtitles then try Brotherhood Of War (or it might just be War) - its a Koren film - the most realistic war film ever made and heart breaking to boot.

Lol thought you might. The reason I thought it might be War was that a freind of mine (who came from the UK) - didn;t recognise the title and then watched the movie and released he had already seen it under the name war. Same case with Leon/The Professional. Different titles for different countries.

Its all to do with the translation. The thing that pissed me of about Pan's Labyrinth was the fact that the actual translation of the name is "The Labyrinth of the Faun", nowhere in the film does it mention the name Pan (as in the Greek god who just happened to be a faun). Yea the creature is a faun but it an't Pan.

My understanding is that "Faunus" is just the latin version of "Panos"; the term 'faun" is then derived from the proper name of "the" 'Faun' ie Pan, a bit like calling all vacuum cleaners Hoovers; but I'm not an expert so you don't have to take my word for it.

Really?

Thats the shittest most unrealistic war film i've ever seen.

"Sgt they're shooting at us"
"Well shoot back"

I think this quote backs that up.

"Sgt they're shooting at us, can someone help me pick up the arse I dropped once I stop digging for cover with my bare hands" would be a truer statement.

My favourite film is Starship Troopers

Any of Paul Verhovens work is awesome - ED209 from robocop was the pure excellence.
