Tite says it all. What are your Favouroite Factions.

My thoughts on the different factions.

Fav: Menoth- Namely the Exemplars, especially Bastions and Cinerators! Though I really like the look of the Avatar and Paladins, and there a heap of cool warcasters (Kreos and the Executior jump to mind).

The ones I like:

Cyngar- Medieval theme with lots of metal and lighting thrown in? Lovely.

Legion of Everblight- Warbeasts are nice, some units look cool and the dragon theme is ace.

Cryx- Gotta love the ghastly appearence. Bane units are sweet, the Seether models are cool, but my favourite thing in the entire Cyrx range is the Withershroud Trio (?).

Circle of Orboros- I really like the theme, some of the models aren't exactly what I'd like to see (they just look a little strange), but still.

Skorne- The armoured infantry are cool, but not as cool as the Immortals! Pity I'm not as keen on the warbeasts.

The ones not so much:

Retribution/Khador-Some cool stuff, but over all, nothing spectactular for me.

Minions/Trollbloods/Mecenaries- Nothing really appealing to me in these ranges.

Protectorate of Menoth - It's the one I chose to play, so I might be a bit biased :laugh:. I just love the look of these guys, especially the flame guard (though It's a pity the Flame Guard officers look a bit wanky). I also love the crusader theme on so many of their Jacks and knights. Game-wise, they suit me to a tee - tough in general, but excellent support to buff your own units, and debuff the enemies.

Cryx - I have a friend who plays these, and they are awesome, not just for their steampunk undead look, but also for their play style, fast and tactical, with lots of sneaky tricks. If I wasn't enamoured of Protectorate, I would probably think about starting these guys up.

Mercenaries - I love how most of their Jacks are very plain and utilitarian, as they're mostly converted industrial Jacks. The plainness and lack of a cohesive style puts some people off, but I have a soft spot for them.

That's my top three. I haven't seen enough Hordes to have much preference for them, though my friends Skorne seem pretty cool.

For me I'd have to say Cygnar, or Cryx. With Khador coming in third.

I like the look of the Retribution Jacks, very Eldar-esque, but the Warcasters are just fugly.

I need to have a closer look at the Protectorate, as they do intrigue me as well.

if or when i play warmachine i'm going either khador or retribution. as dood says, retribution is very eldar looking, sleek. but the smashy of khador, their house warcasters, and huge jacks are just damn impressive.

i might be the only guy who doesn't care for the look/style of menoth.. i was never one to join up with things like.. organized religion or toga parties.. anyway, i played 'em twice, vs. the same guy, he was very noob but their setup did seem strong. i definitely don't count them out when facing them.

Cryx - number one for me and the army I play myself. I think there are maybe 4 models in the entire range that I don't like and want to paint. Fast, sneaky, yeah they rock.

Legion of Everblight - my sons faction and they are cool looking as well.

Skorne - I love the whole samurai look they have going on but I am not fond of the the warbeasts either.

At the moment Khador. The new plastic Jaks are what sucked me into the game.

Somthing about RED.......

Second by looks would be Menoth.

I'm in the same situation as max: I chose to play with Menoth, so I'm biased a LOT. Why? I'm a pyromaniac, I love knights and chivarly, and theres something irresistably attractive in religious fanatics. Theres a sense of social, mental and spiritual unity that, as far as I know, nothing can reproduce or even emulate.

The others... I don't know much, but from the little I know, Khador is badass. Originally I wanted to roll with them, since I also have a crush on Harkonnen-style armies and the whole winter+Russian theme was very nice. Cygnar... well... they're the classic good guys, the greedy, politicking humans you see everywhere. Also, in a ballsy game like Warmachine I don't want to pew-pew like a scared Tau. Cryx is a very nice looking army but they're too flimsy for me, I prefer to have faith in my units that they can survive some amount of punishment at the very least.

Hordes... no data, no judgement.

I agree with your sentiments on Khador, but the Retribution/Cryx are the most outside the box armies in Warmachine.

I'm just getting into it now (read: today, haven't bought anything yet XD) but I'd say my army choice is between Cygnar and Menoth, leaning more toward Cygnar...

Cygnar for the most part, but I really love some of the mercenaries models. The dwarves are sweat.

The fact that warmachine has dwarves is what really makes me want to try it out. 40k just can't do space dwarves.

Agreed. Ratlings are 40k hobbits, not dwarves. Warmachine actually has real dwarves. If 40k brought back true dwarves that would be the one thing that would make me sell my IG!

im liking the look of the hordes stuff over warmachine, i like the legion of everblight the models are consistantly good. I'm also quite liking the trollblood but im not sure if they are a little comic?

Yeah they're easily the best looking imo. Trollbloods look nice too, not so keen on the Cygnar, Skorne or Cygnar stuff though. Retribution are decent too.
