yeah, fast cavalry are actually meaner than they look on first glance at the rules, a small unit of them can be really annoying, pistoliers, top blokes.

Can fast cavalry shoot when they march? If so what penalty to WE glade riders get.

Seems your question hasn't been entirely answered yet.

Fast Cavalry can, as stated in the main rulebook, march and shoot in the same turn. They can also shoot in the same turn as they rally, which tends to prove useful.

With Wood Elves, only the infantry (with one exception that escapes me at the moment... perhaps Waywatchers?) get to move and shoot without penalty. If it helps, think of it like this. Wood Elves may be really bloody good shots, but when you're riding bareback on a galloping horse and trying to aim a bow at a moving target which may or may not be aiming a bow back at you, you're at least going to be taking a -1 penalty to hit in game terms. There's inhuman accuracy and then there's inhuman accuracy.

may sound like a silly question but how are pistoliers really that good, I tried them in a few games and they didnt really do anything, 13 s4 shots hitting on 5s, wounding on 3s/4s, i was only causing 1/2 wounds a time, it just didnt seem to work out? How should I use them?

Son of Horus, I will have to contradict you.

Looking at the boxed section of page 18 of the Wood Elf army book, it mentions "Wood Elf longbows" as not suffering the move and shoot penalty.

Since Glade Riders are armed with longbows this rule applies to them and they are also fast cavalry which leads us to the conclusion that they can indeed march and shoot without penalty.

I'll have a look at the FAQ to see if this has been overruled.

It currently has not being overridden, they have inhuman accuracy probably because well they're not human ;)
