The rules say that you have to fall back to your board edge or go on a diaganl if needed

but (this accualy happend) you need to go on a right angle would that coun't as an instant death or can you do that ( If the enemy is inbetween you and your board edge then your modles are instanty killed)

This rule was called cross-fire before the new rule book but i ain't played a game thats involved that rule coming up. But on page 48 under "trapped" it explains what happens if obstacles or enemy models get in the way if you can go around them, then its fine but if theres no possible way then your unit is destroyed.

It's awfully hard to trap an enemy unit nowadays-- the only way you can possibly do it is to surround a close combat completely so that a unit that breaks off will fall back into your unengaged squad. Keep in mind that you can never "double back"-- you can't move forward in your fallback move to avoid an obstacle, so you really only need to form a big semi-circle around the combat.
