So a few months ago, my brother tells me about this series of books about some characters called Gaunt's Ghosts. I've been obsessed ever since, blowing through the entire GG series (and getting some of my friends hooked), reading "Let the Galaxy Burn" to get a wider view of the WH40K universe, and I've just started reading the Eisenhorn omnibus. Can't wait to get into Horus Heresy and all the other great stories.

A little about myself...early 40's, Atlanta area, lifetime devotee of heavy metal, avid reader of many genres, two young sons, raised in southeast FL (and darned glad to be out of there). Unfortunately, I've never played an electronic wargame in my life, so I'm only here for the paper goods.

Anyway, glad to be here and I look forward to reading some good posts.

Most of us are fanatics in general about the whole Warhammer FB/Warhammer 40k universe, so feel free to talk about any of the books. I recommend the Ciaphas Cain books if you need something lighthearted. You also may be interested in Faith and Fire after you finish the Eisenhorn omnibus. Oh, and it is INCREDIBLY dark in the 3rd book. Welcome aboard!

Haha Abnett nets another reader. Welcome to the forum my freind, great to have you with us. If you want a wider veiw of the 40K Universe trying reading Lord Of The Night, it gives you a good look at what its like to live on a planet in the Imperuim. Plus it shows the workings of the =I= pretty darn well.

The Horus Heresy is a great series of book, I am trying to remember another great series, I will have to go look and get back with you. Are you thinking about getting into the game itself or staying with the fluff?

Thanks for the Welcomes

I will take all of your recommendations and add them to my Black Library wish list. Too bad I have to work for a living...it takes away from my reading time!

Anyway, due to time constraints, I will just be staying with the books. I can't afford to get lost for hours at a time in the gaming world.
