With the new traitor legions Supplement we can even build deadlier Kill teams. Our Kill team Army is part of the Kill Team Detachment...so we can benefit from nice bonuses, whichever legion you choose to represent.

I think your second list is better. From my experience (against mainly necrons) ap33 weapons can make chaos space marines useless, so by taking bikers and cultists you can drown them in bodies/high toughness.

Yes, definitely. Altough, using cultists, its a shame not to take advantage of the VoTL rules Traitor Legions give us.
But really, there are no other cheap options in our codex. its cultists or go home!
