I wasn't sure whether to put this in here or Army Lists. Move if needed.

I have finished my Dark Angels Army (Still unpainted) and am wondering what army to do now.

It's a choice between Eldar and DaemonHunters.

Eldar:

Advantages:
I used to play them.... Know how to use them
Aspect warriors are good at what they do.
All round awesomeness

Disadvantages:
Models are a bit expensive
A bit weak (defence wise)
A bit confusing to use

DaemonHunters:

Advantages:
Really really strong
I get them half price cause a former DH player stopped playing them.
DAEMONHOSTS and VINDICARE ASSASINS

Disadvantages:
High point costs => Low numbers

Which Should I do?

I have a couple of possible Army lists for both. I'll post them up in the army lists section and put links to them here. Maybe tomorrow.

Well, although i like Eldar, for me they are to complcated and break easy. While i think even though the army is small, if they are well played daemonhunters can be extroadinary while also looking good. Personally i've always wanted to do a Iyaden eldar force with wraithguard etc, but theres a problem with the models being so expensive.

If you plan to paint with any enthusiasm, then Eldar. Also, Eldar will give you a break from Marines. Daemonhunters are actually more difficult to play properly, but as you said, the army is smaller and you'll have a full force much quicker. A simple paint scheme on Daemonhunters armies looks ace.

Well, I have both of them (eldar and Daemonhunters).
I've had the eldar from their pirates and corsairs only days. They've seen several codex redux and have had a few mods over the years. I used to have a full harlequin army as well (but foolishly gave them away just pre-3rd ed. If I'd known about apoc coming, that would never have happened.). Not an easy army to use - pretty much a glass hammer (I don't play cheese-falcon army. ). Rewards are good, though. models are pretty.

Daemon Hunters. I wanted an army that was SM but not SM, but not CSM either.
I have my inquisitors (radical/orthodox/puritan) with their retinues and about 2000pts of GKs (with about another 1kpts in inducted guard/ISTs).
Expensive army, but the models are nice. Hard to win with (outnumbered even by SM) and a challenge to play, but fun.

Concerning painting, I'll paint anything. I love painting (Getting good at it too). As many of you would know, I'm more of a hobbyist than a gamer.

Concerning gaming, those are some valid points Chrome.
Yeah, DH get outnumbered. But they're that tough. I played a 1500 against DH with my DA. I lost miserably. (I'm gonna do a pure DH).

Eldar are a bit tough to use, But if you know how......

Daemonhunters FTW. The space elves deserve nothing more than to be eradicated like the xenos scum they are, and besides, grey knights just kick ass. Hard.

Granted, I'm not the best person to ask, as I mainly play DH, and my main opponent plays eldar.

DH DH DH!!!

Eldar are weedy, pointy headed panzees that fail to realize they've doomed us all! They must all burn at teh stake! Foul Xenos and heretical sorcery are no match for the sanctified might of the Emperor's chosen! Such is the way of foul Xenos that they would seek to undermine the authority of Holy Terra, and the very foundation of the Imperium!

Rant *off*

DH - you can use them as one of three armies if you find you don't like them but still play differently to other forces. They have a great back story and there arn't many other people who use them. Whats not to love?

Eldar all day. You have a ton of different ways to confront the battlefield with Eldar. And the new Eldar are damn good, contrary to popular opinion! I haven't lost with them yet, of course I've only ever lost twice in a decade with Eldar...
I digress, You can do anything with the Eldar army as you can with DH and more, i.e. psychics, hard-hitting troops, and wargear that actually does things. From long range murdering, to obliterating psychics, to flying circuses of harlies and aspects.. Mechanized wings, speeder armies, stealth attacks. Yeah..
One of the few armies that can be made to dominate the enemy long range by turn 2, or eviscerate them in bloody hand to hand by the same turn. Long, grinding missions are not their strongpoint unless you have plenty of cover.

BLOOD RUNS, ANGER RISES, DEATH WAKES, WAR CALLS!

FINALLY!!! An eldar supporter. Thankyou Khaine.

Anyway, Yeah I reckon I'll start DaemonHunters. I'm gettin my fill tomorrow. I'm getting 3Grey Knights for 20 AUD - thats the price of a space marine. That won't take too long, so I'll start the Eldar in the not too far future.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I really appreciate it.

DAEMONHOSTS and VINDICARE ASSASINS
Forget Vindicare, Callidus FTW! Move enemy 6", Deepstrike WITHOUT having to miss a turn, Ignores ALL Saves of any kind, Poison Blades, Jump Back!

Vindicare are OK but...

I find Daemonhosts a bit crap because they CAN be uber killy death-dealers, but they are unpredictable and can let you down when u really need it. Also, if you have daemonhosts you cant use Grey Knights, which leaves your only troop choice as stormtroopers. If you want a stormtrooper-based army, get Imperial Guard but have Inquisitor allies, as pure daemonhunter armies without Grey Knights are a bit pointless...

O the other hand, Eldar are good, although i cant really discuss them in depth as i dont have any (yet!).
