Eldar, combining elite units

Hi! :)

This is my first post so go easy on me! :p

Recently I have been thinking over the idea of marching out combined units of aspect warriors.
Being that aspect warriors have such unbalanced strengths and weakness, bringing two units close together that might help create a good balance.

One option I was thinking was perhaps throwing 5 Banshee and 5 scorpians (inc exarch?) in a wave serpant and droping them into assualt together. so you have the durablity & the strength of the scorpians to make up for the fragility of the banshee, and the speed and power weapons of the banshee to get through the harder armour...

any thoughts? what on aspects would work well as a team? or perhaps you think this is a terrible idea and that you should just focus the strengths of each aspect on where its best used.

I eagerly await your opinions!!

thanks a lot

hey guys, thanks for quick feedback. Yes, sorry I did'nt actually mean one unit with two differnt types of aspects.

On the other hand I did'nt know you couldnt put two differnt units into a transport, I just thought you filled it up with what ever you could!! :p So that foils that plan I guess.

As said above about 'cover fire' perhaps a better option is to work out which units are better for protecting each other?

thanks,
Tobes
Thanks Grish

Yes dark reapers have always been a winner in my book. As for fire dragons, I do think if you play it right they can really munch through well armoured troops too.

I have never been able to work out the banshee/scorpian thing, I see what you are saying about the banshee, but for me they just tend to die too easily... I was juggling this in my head alot today, then had this vision of a squad of marines being jumped by a squad of both at the same time!

Any thoughts on have two transports and droping them in roughly the same place in the same turn? or is that just asking for blast weapon attacks?

Gotcha. and I couldnt agree more!

I was starting to think 'why put infiltrating units in a transport?'

I havnt had much experience with rangers/path finders, but now you have said that I will start thinking about it quite seriously.

Thanks for all your comments on this Grish
