Farseer with spirit stones, Eldritch storm, fortune, and mind war

14 guardians with a scatter laser accompanied by a warlock with conceal

13 guardians with a missile launcher accompanied by a warlock with conceal

10 Dire avengers with an exarch with 2 shuriken catapults and bladestorm

Vyper with a Missile launcher

Vyper with a Missile launcher

Vyper with 2 shuriken cannons

Falcon with a star cannon holo-fields and spirit stones

Total:998

Its been a while since i posted here, so hello again. This is an army in the making, i have yet to buy most of this (escept a squad of guardians, the falcon and my farseer and warlocks)

The strategy is the hammer and anvil. (to be extended in my 1500 point army with the addition of s. scorpions or swooping hawks.) The guardians and dire avengers walk down the center either fleeting or shooting depending upon the circumstances. The warlock's conceal is a must unless you want your guardians to be eaten by bolter fire and the like. For a bit of extra fun throw the farseer into a guarian squad with spirit stones (so he can also attack) and fortune to make those 5+ covers have the same odds as 3+ saves. The Vypers and the Falcon skim around a flank and rip everything apart with a decent balance of anti-personel and anti-tank weapons. (although they are ment mostly to take out tanks and heavy infantry) finish that up with the bladestorm of the dire avengers and the 2 mobs of guardans in assaults to clean up the remaining enemies.

Pls post opinions. I luv them.

Alright mate, good to see you back.

My opinion is that your Avatar is still WAY to mesmeric for sanity.

I'm afraid I have no coherent comment to offer on the list, I play a jetbikes-of-doom Eldar force (or rather more accurately, a jetbikes-of-mild-annoyance-and-sometimes-hilarity-for-my-opponent Eldar force).

But anyway, welcome back.

Sorry dude no eldar dex so no real comments just generalisations.

Looks good an pretty well balanced at a glance and able to deal with most stuff.

Hopefully Longbeard will spot this and will be able to offer more concise insights for you (he doing Eldar at the minute I believe.) or Jigplums.

You Eldar players (either type) are a real minority at the mo :(

Couple of comments. First off I like the guardian heavy feel to it.

DA Exarch with Conceal?!? Is this a typo? I'm guessing you meant Bladestorm

Finally I prefer the Guide and Doom powers for a Farseer, especially with so many BS3 troops.

Personal preference but I'd love to see a squad of Dark Reapers in there, but I just like them so take that with a pinch of salt :)

yeah it was typo, fixed it. XD. I havent really taken a liking to dark reapers really. I tend to prefer assaulting. when i expand to 1500 i hope to get a wraitlord to walk behind the guardians and some striking scorpions with a wave serpent.

As for the farseer, i have thought about doom and guide, but it reallly isnt that important. with 12+ guardians in each squad i get a pretty large number of shots so the 3bs isnt that much of a drawback. the shuriken catapult is practically a bolter (in fact i like it better) so its already good enough to take down most enemy troops. but above all the guardians are there for survivability not real damage.

but thanks 4 the advice, i always luv opinions. :D

Overall the list looks ok, your ticked some of the right boxes i would say but there are some flaws in the list that should definately be sorted. Firstly the biggest one, the falcon. Giving it brightlance is pretty pointless, as you can only fire one main weapon if you move the tank and you'll want to move it every turn so that it can only be glanced. The main Massive advantage that skimmers have is only being able to glance them when they move, and eldar do that better than any other army with there spiritstones and holo-fields combining to make an almost unkillable machine. So you want to give it weapons that means it can fire everything on the move. I like starcannon on the falcon, as coupled with the pulse laser its spitting out 4 ap2 shots, ideal for killing termies, marines etc. Other options are scatter laser for maximium output of shuriken cannon for shaving points.
The fireprism imo is a better tank, with more versatility and reliability[extra bs]. The only time the falcon is better is when its transporting a unit like harlies or firedragons.

Next your guardians, i like even sized squads, so would go with 11 guardians + warlock for a nice even 12. your weapon choices are fine, but i would probably go with embolden as it generally keeps them around for longer than conceal in my experience and you can always actually use cover to get the save instead. btw fortuned 5+ gives you a 50:50 probability of saving.

Farseer, 3 powers is a bit much imo, epecially without any of the useful extra's like runes of witnessing and runes of warding. I would either specialise more, or find the points for eldrad.

Vypers, i like giving them lots of shots, so find that double shuriken cannons is better than scatter laser for the same points. EML isn't a bad choice as they can use the range to keep out of enemy range.

Avengers all good.

So with that in mind this is what i would do with the list making those minor changes.

Eldrad

11 Guardians with EML + Warlock with Embolden
11 Guardians with EML + Warlock with Embolden
10 Direavengers inc Exarch with avenger shuriken pistols, bladestorm

Vyper with 2 shuriken cannons
Vyper with 2 shuriken cannons
Vyper with 2 shuriken cannons

Falcon with starcannon, shuriken cannon, holofield and spiritstones

nice...never noticed that with the vyper. as for te falcon, i know what you mean, i wish i hade a p cannon instead, but i got the falcon shortly before the codex came out because i didnt expect the fire prism to get a buff. perhaps i should get the cannon turret and make my falcon a prisim cannon.

anyhow, i dont see your logic with the conceal+fortune. with 5+ saves you have a 1/3 chance of saving. if you fail, you get another 1/3 chance again. so 1/3+1/3 = 2/3 = 3+. thats my logic. idk school just got back in so perhaps im still rusty on my fractions.

as for the brightlance/pulse laser combo, i think i may change it (if i can) i used to think i could move 12 and fire all, but recently (within last month) i reread skimmer rules and was fairly disappointed by that. I just havent gotten around to remodeling. and i ALWAYS play WYSIWYG unles i have absolutely no idea how to represent something. (and just for the record i did know that the bigest advantage of skimmers was the +6"=glancing) I tell you what, i like the suggestion of starcannon, 3 ap2 shots is nice, wish i had done that from start.

farseer, never had too much of a problem with him. biggest problem for me are my inquisitor buddies psychic hoods. with that 10 ld i pass almost every psychic roll (unlike with ruins of witnessing where i usually pass but am more likely to have to use my ghosthelm to save me)

guardians, i like as many bodies as possible i evened out the numbers though.

Thanks for the help, im gonna get that falcon torn appart and give him his starcannon, now wut 2 do with extra points...(i luv extra points)

vypers-i used my SM land speeder with a multi melta and loved the results, same thing i plan to do with my vypers, make him have to shoot ordinance at the flanks where he can kill fewer points to keep his armor alive.

thank for the 4, i dont know wut i was thinking when i typed that, probably that i had a bright lance and a starcannon, who knows XD. anyhow, i can definately vouch for that. those 4 ap2's sliced open my friends SM army during a meat grinder mission and killed a couple marines, mostly it just took fire that could have been better employed elsewhere. i also used some borrowed warp spiders (friend began an eldar army, but then changed) and they managed to destroy a dread and a whirlwind. Go go Eldar specialists!

i glanced at the apoclypse stuff, cant say i rmember that atm...since my main army is SM i was more interested in that uber LR. (5 LASCANNONS!) i'll look around 4 it.
