I just read the entry for Hellfire shells and poison weapons again,
and I came to wonder if Hellfire shells (with AP "-" and Poison 2+)
would allow an armour save.
Yes, they do allow armour saves. In fact, since they don't have an AP, any and all armour saves can be made against it, so even an ork will get his 6+ save. Also, being AP-, means you have -1 to any vehicle damage rolls with the weapon.
Hope that helps somewhat
[And Ninja'd by the Klokk! Eh, I elaborated a bit at least ]
That said, there are many cases when the poisoned weapon is ALSO a power weapon, and in this case there would be no armour save. DPs with NoxTouch for example.
Just make sure to remember too if the strength of the attack is equal to, or greater than, the toughness of the target you MUST reroll your failed to wounds too! k:
