I'm an Ork player and normally I've gone with Eavy Armour & Cybork Bodies on my Warbosses, Big Meks & Nobs, but recently I've been trying them a bit more bare bones.

So I'm wondering how other Ork players run it, do you go for the safety features or figure that 'there's always more where that came from'?

Yes, always.
Except for Big Mek's with KFF's.
You always keep them inside vehicles so they never get shot at or assaulted.
This would be a bad time to tell you then, that I don't bother with vehicles either.

In 40K, I don't usually take any of those on my Boyz, but I love 'Eavy Armor on my Nobs and HQs. 'Ard Boyz just don't cut it for me (Boyz with 'Eavy Armor). In Apocalypse, however, you attach Grotsnik to them, give 'em Cybork Bodies and 'Eavy Armor... that's over 100 boyz with 4+/5++ FNP

Ard Boyz are rarely worth it.
Neither is the Dok.
Not in standard 40k anyway.
Ard Boyz are always useful, if only for the look on your opponent's face when you inform him that your boyz have 4+ armour.

Ard boyz with Mad Doc our useful on games 2000 points and up when everyone is looking for the Nob bikers and you run 30 mini-nobs at them.

i also like to put Eavy and cybork on all my HQ and Nobs especially in my footslooger force since they do get targeted and assualted often. I helps keep them around a little longer.

It depends on the unit. Warbosses warrant both eavy armor and cybork. Big Meks should probably be kept out of combat, but either armor is alright if you like (both would probably be overkill).

Biker Nobz always need cybork, or else they won't be worth their cost. Regular nobz need either eavy armor, or both a painboy and cybork, but both might be overkill.

HQs and Nobz always, regardless of their type, need some sort of armor. A 6+ save isn't going to cut it. Regular boyz are just fine the way they are though, and don't need armor at all.
