Sometimes me and my friend have have this problem come up.

one of us shoots at the others tank from a diagonal angle which is inbetween the front and side armour.

we have houseruled it that it would hit the sides but what would you do?

I think it depends on how much of a of the side you see. You know if you see like 55% of the tank's side then you'd hit the side and what-not.

Personally, I'd rule it the following way: Asine 1-3 to one side, and 4-6 to another. Roll a dice and whatever number you get corresponds to the side you hit

Take your tape measure and place it over opposite corners of the vehicle and see what side of it the firing unit ends up on.

You have to be in a very specific position to be hitting a vehicle directly on it's corner between the armour facings.

Check the armour facing rules and boxout on p60 - what you can see doesn't matter for determining armour facings, where you stand does.
