So i want to paint skulls, i want them to look real, any ideas on how to achive that not bleached bone color but more of a yellow aged bone color? Chaos Marines have so many skulls on everything and some i want to make look older than others while some i want to look newer. Its mostly just a way for me to identify my command models in the units that way i know who has what abilities and what have you.
My preferred method for that aged yellowing is the seraphim sepia wash
I usually do a brown base coat beastial brown/mornfang brown
Light coat of screaming skull
Dry brush screaming skull/ bleached bone
Seraphim sepia wash
Doing the wash last keeps it yellowed, if too much go for another dry brushing
This is what I do for my bones/skulls as well the only change is I do a pure white dry brush before doing the last wash but that is just my personal preference to give it more definition.
1) Paint it in Leadbelcher
2) Wash with Nuln oil
3) Drybrush with Leadbelcher again
4) Wash it lightly with Cassandra Yellow
