This has never come up because I've never equiped a deffkopta with bigbomm. But if I were to do so, can you use the bigbomm special attack and still fire the deffkoptas' normal weapon in the same turn? If so, can you fire at a different unit?

The reasons I think this may be the case are that
1) it is a special attack and the deffkoptas aren't really shooting at the enemy unit.
and
2) the codex reads as if this attack occurs in the movment phase.


Your thoughts?

It is never defined as a shooting attack plus is done in the Movement phase soooo...

I say yes to both.
