Are Deamonic steeds really worth taking in battle? They seem overpriced and not actually able to contribute to the army in anyway. This is a shame as i wanted to convert a Tzeentch lord on a Disc of Tzeentch. What are all your thoughts on steeds and has anyony ever used them?

I've never used them, but I've been thinking about putting a Sorcerer on a disc with a unit of Raptors. MoT with Warptime so you can reroll hits and wounds and use the Force Weapon instant death attack. Might be kinda cool.

It depends on which of the Chaos Powers they are from. Generally they are an improvement and still let you join other daemons, unlike the Chariot.

For CSM, I would only use mounts for giggles. Slaanesh mounted Lord is tne fastest unit in the Codex, but can't be put in a transport. One lascannon and boom, dead. Same for Khorne. Makes the lord scary, but is very susceptible to instadeath. The Mark of Tzeentch one may be ok, I have never used in.
