We have had to choose a new name for the HO Legion as The Black Talons exist already.
We will be keeping the Talons part of the name and one of the team will update the thread title when we get one.
In the meantime still keep on with the paint scheme ideas, there have been some nice ideas so far.

The forum has recently voted to call its own Chaos Legion the Black Talons.

Now we have a name we need to start thinking of cool colour schemes.

Well with the name Black Talons, we will have to basically go with black armour for the marines primarily. The contrasts will be mainly in the details and triming. The hard part will be to not have them look like Black Templar ripoffs. I am leaning towards Black/Red with gold highlights maybe.

i were thing of black armour, with a red helmet and details.
Or, quartered red and black.

this way they will carry off the name and theme, but not look like hit BT ripoffs

Heh heres a idea based off the crimsion fists idea, how about a silver armor, most likely boltgun metal, and black as the fists? (IE the name black talons?), Using Red gore or scab red for details with mithril silver
Would put up my pic using the paint thing but cant figure out how to put it up :?

They don't necessarily have to be Black. A black talon shoulder logo on any other combination of colours would go well.

Did we decide which god the legion follows? Naturally, that should have a bearing on the final colour scheme.

I figured we were undivided If any though, I believe in another thread we voted Tzeentch as our majority favorite Chaos God.

That might also affect our final color scheme

Undivided me thinks they sound like a legion that would be along the lines of what the alpha legion or night lords do

I think undivided is the better choice. When it comes to painting up the army we'll be able to select the widest selection of miniatures. Daemons, Oblits etc.

I agree, Undivided is the way to go. It represents the leanings of the members more in that we all like all 4 of them between the lot of us.

I have an Imperial Chaplin model sitting here that I will paint up in a suitable colour scheme.

Are we deciding the colours before we paint or painting to decide the colours?

Main Armor Color: Enchanted Blue
Detail Color: Fiery Orange (Rims/Eyes/etc., maybe even the bolter casings)
Chapter Tradition: Whether carrying a bolter, or dual lightning claws, the guantlets and any blades protruding from them should be jet black.

Trying to match the board color scheme, and the chapter name. In order to better fit the standing background of Chaos Marine armies, let's make this one a LatD.
