Im thinking about starting a Chaos Daemons army for fun but after reading many threads dotted around I don't know what to make of them.

I was thinking about doing a Nurgle/Khorne army for survivability and hard hitting but I'm stumped by the many 'flaws' in the codex:
For instance: Bloodletters- STR5 power weapons!:shok: scoring!:shok: deepstrike!:shok: infantry:headbutt:.

I mean what's the point of a squad of cc specialists that has no way to the front line beyond deepstriking and has the survivability of a plucked turkey? Having power weapons just makes them more of a target.

Don't get me wrong, I still want to do daemons, I'm just asking if the army works and good units to base a Nurgle/Khorne army around.

Also, while I'm at it, if you could change one thing about the codex, what would it be? The way that they deploy? The speed of some units?

So basically what would you do to make daemons better? I personally like the all DS deployment as the enemy doesn't know where you will arrive and if you go second you deny your opponant a turns shooting. I would give all daemons fleet (with slaaneshi daemons rolling 2 dice and selecting the higher).

(Just please don't forget the original question and help a guy out:eek:k:)

you'll be suprised that more people will fire at plaguebearers before bloodletters which means a khorne/nurgle army is perfect

I'd speed the whole army up a little. And I'd make the whole 'Daemonic wave deepstrike' optional.

Plus army wide special abilities or rules for running Mono god lists and certain God Combos.

For example, If every unit in the Army is a khorne Daemon, once per battle, every unit in the army gains +1A, +1WS and +1I.
May seem overpowered, but a mono-khorne list has alot of short comings. And it's stop a Khorne army with the Dodgy Tzeentch Daemon Prince Triplex shooting everything for the back ground ;)

just for funsies.

Personally, I believe Daemons/Chaos should gain bonuses for going monogod, as there are a lot of tactical deficiencies you end up having with such a list. Something like Khornate daemons being able to assault the turn they come in, Tzeentch rerolling the Reserves dice, etc. would be quite cool.

When it comes to 40K Daemons, I think a little more 40K feel is needed.
1)Cultist should be used in Daemons. Cultist summon and provide sacrifices in most fluff. I think Cultist should be able to provide Daemons the ONBOARD units with Icons to help with the whole DS bit. They can act as a Transport option, like for each Daemon HQ/Troop allows for 1 squad of Cultist. Lasguns with CC weapon, Icon, and a Champ to sacrifice for GDs to show up when you need them.
2)Also DS Daemons should only get 1 D6 Scatter roll. On a board with lots terrain and lots of Hoardy units like 120 Gurdsmen make it a bit no winner for DS Daemons. Mishap is a bitch.
3)I would also like to see some kind of option for a single CSM squad in the elite slot to further provide Onboard Icon. What kind of Daemon Army runs without Renegades or CSMs? Not many.
4)As someone else said aloow the option for your entire army to arrive in one Wave or 2 waves, and be able to chosse your wave other than a random roll.
