I had a tourny recently that I decided I wanted to play orks last minute. So I spent about 18 hours the day before the tourny painting up most of what you see here. I wanted to go with a speed paint, so I basically just threw on the base colors, dry brushed a highlight, then washed the whole thing. For the most part I'm very pleased with the way it all turned out. Everything but the skin. I'm going to redo the skin to make it a little brighter, it turned out a little darker than I wanted. Lemme know what you guys think =D.

I have more close ups of the rest of em if anyone wants to see more. So not bad for a couple days work eh?

You don't have much highlighting on the skin but then for a speed paint job they look very good. I certainly could not paint that fast.

Yeah, I'm fairly dissatisfied with the skin. I'll definitely be going back to add some actual highlights. What I did in the pictures was started with Orkhide Shade foundation and then attempted to drybrush Snot Green to give it the highlights, then after that I washed with Devlan Mud to make it look more grungy. Well it ended up canceling out the highlights completely so the skin is very lacking.

Here's the bikes individually. I primarily made use of only Deffkoptas and Nobz from AoBR. I used some plasticard to add more detail.

I think that all the white details like checks and stuff is what took the majority of the time really.

It was a 750 point speed tourny. We played 5 rounds. I won my first 2 games, first against Blood angels and then second against orks. The third game I lost against Eldar who just shot me to death. The fourth I played against Chaos Demons and the Bloodthirster wiped out one of my trukk squads in one swipe of his axe lol (i lost horribly) The fifth game I played against Space Wolves that had a Redeemer. I somehow lucked out and killed the redeemer second turn before it had a chance to attack at all, so I won. 3 - 2 isn't too terrible for my first tourny!

No it isn't, personally I enter every tournament with the simple objective of winning more games than I lose. If I do better than that, then it's a bonus.

What did you get those wheels off that you have used on those bikes?

The bikes are really characterful dude. +rep for deathskulls and the paintjob on the trukks. I like the white checkers you have there too. Nice work. I've got deathskulls over in my sig too if you have some spare time.

What did you get those wheels off that you have used on those bikes?

I used lego wheels. Back in the late 80s early 90s legos had a series called Space Police, it was all black and neon green and stuff. I had a bunch of wheels so I cut them in half for the front of the bikes and just used a whole one in the back. On the bikes that have the guns over their heads I used lego tubing on the back. I also used a lego pole I had for the Waaaagh banner. Legos are so useful!
