I'm just wondering what the hell chaos space marines do for fun/diversion when not at war. I have a small chaos force that i wanna fluff out, i was thinking they should be obsessed with wealth and luxury but idk what kinda luxuries would appeal to a space marine. They can't really get drunk or high due to there superhuman bodies. They don't seem to have sex outside of slaaneshish ones. In Fulgrim, the emperors children are artists and poets which i like. Anyone have any fluffy suggestions for social activities? Maybe some form of bloodsport. Also, what happened to the warrior lodges from the Horus Heresy?

Probably a combination of things; marines in the Imperium don't get very much spare time to do anything barring meditation and idle banter. Where as CSM's are there to experience and enjoy the offerings their super-human bodies can provide. Also they have massive egos so I bet they take a load of drugs, get a horde of slaves and generally engage in blood-sports like arena fights and knitting.

I think it depends on the legion. I can't imagine the Alpha legion doing anything but being sneaky bastards and training more cultists, i would imagine the iron warrors spend their down time working out ways of improving their systems and defences ect. The night lord probabley sit and work out which screaming soundtrack is scariest and how to play it so that everyone on the planet can here it.
The black legion spend all their time listening to my chemical romance.

Have you seen how ornate and fancy their power armour is in illustrations? Compare, for instance, the Blood Raven and the Black Legionnaire on the back of the "Chaos Rising" expansion for Dawn of War II. Apparently, all they do is make their armour look awesome. Imagine, the manliest and evilest of supermen the Galaxy has seen, comparing tips on, basically, bedazzling their gear.

"Oh, honey, please - gemstones in the eye-sockets of the skulls on your belt is SO 12th Black Crusade... Get with the times!"

To be realistic (lol), CSM are probably allot like their Loyalist brethren. They train, meditate, and do other things, while also indulging in more extreme activities like duels and daemonic sacrifices. Exceptions to this would be cultists: Khorne worshipers probably foam at the mouth and fight at every opputunity, Tzeentch worshipers probably medidtate anbd explore the warp, Slaneesh worshipers do everything imaginable , and Nurgle worshipers probably pop zits.

Its also important to thing of the setting they are in. What diversions could worlds in the Eye of Terror bring? I think my fluff will include amassing great wealth and using cultists to profiteer on the war. Screw the Imperium we wanna be rich bitch.

DeceivedRadek, I can see your profiteering CSM working just fine. When not actively at war/raiding, they could be building palaces for themselves (rather, have slaves do it for them), having slaves/prisoners fight for their amusement, try to procure the biggest/flashiest/rarest weapons, armor and wargear to increase their prestige among the warband, and of course infighting and defending against sneak raids by their fellow CSM would take a lot of their time too.

They do cocaine. Mountains of it. Piles large enough to ski down. :shok:

I'm sure you've heard that is mostly an Emperor's Children thing, but they all do it. The EC's just start with the coke as a warmup before moving onto harder drugs like pure freebased children's screams, and Charlie Sheen's exhumed body.

All Chaos Marines do cocaine though. That's why they're always so angry, and why they never win against the Empire. It messes up their tactical planning and they turn into entire legions of power-armored Tony Montanyas.

You might ask where it all comes from, as cocoa plants do not grow well in the warp. As it happens, the Eye of Terror has a system of large planetoids that are made of pure Colombian gold, which is mined by armies of slaves for the Legions. Don't ask where they came from. Chaos did it. Magic. Just don't think about it too hard.

Even the Emperor's Children can't handle Charlie Sheen, mate. No one can. No one except Charlie Motherfucking Sheen.

Going on fluff CSM are confirmed to engage in the following activities in their free time.

-Engage in religious activities such as prayer or god specific acts of worship.
-Actively try and recruit promising arastates.
-Torture innocents and enemies alike for fun.
-engage in unarmed combat for bragging rights, and also engaging in blood sports and hunting.
-partaking in narcotics derived from refined living creatures that highten senses and awareness to blistering heights.

They engage in the ultimate arch-heretical endeavors such as watching "Real Houswives of the Eye of Terror" and Keeping up with the Kaldor Draigo.Yeah, all jokes aside they plot and infight incessantly. When they're not doing that they are raiding and pillaging and watching the Ultimate Fighter.

Imagine UFC on khorne's homeworld. That would be pretty full on. As far as bezerker behavior read up on kroeger in storm of iron or uzas in the soul hunter series. These two give a good indication of their frame of mind away from battle. A little unhinged but not raging all the time. As far as the slaneesh marines go, i rekon they smoke shitloads of dope and relax. Save the stimulants for combat.

Uhm, I read Soul Hunter and Blood Reaver. Uzas was borderline mentally retarded and absent minded when not in the berserker mode. He didn't know where he was and had trouble remembering the past or who he was. I remember the story of Kharn after he'd turned in AOD. To say he was a cunning warrior anymore would be a mistake. The Khornate berserkers are mindless and mentally handicapped when not in the rage. The Night Lords literally view Uzas as a liability.

Just like the Vikings i guess, drink, get drunk, crack onto some bawdy Daemonette wench and have a cuppla days of great ball blowing tantric sex, then head back to the pub to tell his mates.

Of course all this on YouTube, Facebook and any other social media outlets.

Play Rock-em Sock-em Robots.

but in all seriousness, i think they all would train, maintain their gear, manage slaves/serfs but after that i think they branch off from their loyalist bretheren. then as long as they weren't undivided csm they would take up the hobbies of their patrons. Khornates would fight in the arena, Slaanesh marines would screw slaves, torture people and snort narcotics made from their enemies powdered bones, Tzeentchian marines would be scholarly and seach for spells (like the brown note), and nurgle devotees would probably just hybernate in some intestines.
