Firstly I am totally new to Imperial guard, never had a single game.

Im thinking about joining the guard and while writing up my list I noticed how amazing Creed is, 4 orders a turn at 24', that sounds like fun. Another thing that is winning me over is that I intend to field a infantry gunline army, the idea just appeals to me, and from what I understand Creed is best used in an infantry heavy list.

With regards to kell, I want to use him not because he has a great profile more because if I buy the rather expensive blister I don't want to feel cheated

The list im writing up is about 1500pt, is this too low for Creed + Kell?

at 1500pts I'd take creed, but not even consider kell till 2000-3000pts and even then it would take a long time thinking.

at least with just creed at 1500pts you got plenty left for platoons and tanks

It's not that Kell is a bad choice and he does enhance Creed's abilities, Orders etc, but you're going to be eating up a lot of points @1.5K, which may handicap the list.

I'd make sure you have your firepower niches filled first (AT, AI etc) in your list before commiting points to Kell. Also some of his buffs towards Creed could be replaced by a Bodyguard or 2...cheaper as well.

I've played some small games in the range of 1000-1500 pts against IG with those two... And man If you had Any Idea how much Kell has annoyed me in all those games >_>

In one battle Kell and Creed was actuaally the only units left on the field. Total massacre..

I can't give much tactica or anything on the two. I just know I've had some bitching times fighting them both.

So Creed is ok at 1500pt, Kell is a big no no, I can live with that. I think I will just use Kell as a noramal gaurd carrying a regimental standard.

One other thing I know it might be a little off topic but in the IG codex, am I able to give a single model in my CCM squad a regimental standard and a medi kit?

Yes..it does mean you can field no more than 2 SW's though, or a HWT..for a total of 4 Vets all up.

No, one veteran may take a standard and another may take a medipack, you cannot stack both items on the one model.
