Would it be possible to use the Plastic Juggernaut miniatures from the Bloodcrushers kit as TWC if I Mounted Space wolves on them? I'm only asking because I am not sure what the legal base for TWC is. I'm pretty sure I could do it, as long as they used the same base correct?

Wow, you would say no even in a friendly game?
I only ask because there is no GW made thunderwolf model besides Canis Failborn. So I just figured since his model was around the same size as the chaos champion on jugger model out of the fantasy range that I could just make some count as thunderwolf cav using the juggers in the bloodcrusher kit and then make some riders out of a space wolves pack box.

anyone else think this would work out just fine? I mean its gotta be better than using 3rd party bits that are not tourney legal right?

Literally it would be juggers with space wolf riders... of course with the khornate symbolism filed/shaved/removed and replaced with space wolf doo-dads

Some players are dicks you just have to deal with that sadly and find someone else to play if they wont let you use them.

Juggers sounds like they would be around the right size. Canis is supposed to be the Largest Thunder Wolf so going down a base size to juggers sounds good. But as there's currently no model for it go wild. We've certainly been playing them as having 60mm bases.

For tounries as long as you have your Space Wolf riders etc you should be fine.

I wasn't sure of a theme. I had considered Basing them on 60mm bases just like Canis though.

One theme idea I had was use zerker's on them instead of Space wolves and just use the space wolf codex for a fully mounted Khornate army of doom... Of course I would kit bash myself a "counts as" Canis as well to match the theme of the list.

The benefit of buying Bloodcrusher boxes to do this is I can place the "riders" aka the blood letters on standard bases to use as summoned daemons in my csm list.

idk what I will do... it was just an Idea I had.

The Space Wolf codex has, from my understanding, been popular to use as a stand-in for a World Eaters army, with Thunderwolf Cavalry obviously being Juggernaught-mounted Berzerkers, like the days of old.

And yes, a Kharne-is Wolfborn would be ideal.

I think Blood Angels are considered more suitable a codex to use though.

I was also considering painting them up as Skyrar's Darkwolves out of the chaos codex... seeing as they are cc specialists from the Fenris sector, seems to me like they might use "thunderwolf cavalry" and thus using the SW codex wouldn't be farfetch'd to represent them.

I just hope I can get my hands on a few bloodcrusher boxes cheap, they are quite expensive here and even on ebay, they are pricey.

If I ever get a camera and soem of these bad boys I will have to post some pics.

I just hope that if I put them on 60mm bases ppl will understand they are Thunderwolf Cav and not be dicks about it.

Have you googles giant wolf miniatures, or just wolf minis period. Another option to look into would be the wolves from GW goblin riders. Hope this helps.

Hey all, just to throw in my thought as Ive been debating how to model me some TWC, I was going to try to get my hands on the bulkier old Cold Ones, for a home brew chapter whose home world is infested with giant desert wolves and lizards (crowbar much?).

Anywho, was wondering about if the size would be about right?

To the OP sorry if you resent this being here, but figured getting a good size for the model would benefit us both and such, I'll move it if you like tho.

My space wolf friend is planning to use Warg Riders from Lord of the Rings. He's just not sure what to do about the legs. I'm not sure about the size, but they're probably bigger than Warhammer Fantasy Goblin Riders.

While you won't get the bloodletters to use for your CSM, it would be a lot cheaper. On the US GW website you would get 6 Wargs for $25, as opposed to 3 Bloodcrushers for $53.75 The bases are 40mm for Wargs and 50mm for Bloodcrushers, so you might need to get some bases too depending on how much your friends care about that. Mine generally don't care, especially since it's still a GW product--they let me outright use Balrogs as Bloodthirsters, and lately as Daemon Princes until I can get the new plastic ones (I can't keep those damn metal ones in one piece!)

EDIT: Did some digging around, you can actually get just 6 Wargs without riders at all for $16.50

Can anyone provide a pic/link of what they use for TWC? All the Wargs and such from LOTR look butt-ugly compared to Canis' mount, and GOblins are too small.

As for the Juggernoughts, i'd think they would be fine, but you might benefit from adding some fur to them so they actually look wolfy.
