Ok so i just got very angry at some one for bad mouthing the Deathwatch. they are the coolest marines around and yet some people would like to see a stern-guard squad led by a captain. Well sorry haters and thread killas but here is a true scion of the emperor to right your wrongs.

I won't be able to post much till i get my laptop back tomorrow but I thought I'd just give a run down on the idea. HQ choice would be a Deathwtach hero such as a captian or epistolary or reclusiarch with the mandatory inquisitor lord and retinue. Next for the elites, Iv'e gone with the BA approach, of using the tag Deathwatch specialists. This means that as an elites choice you can include up to three librarians, chaplains, techmarines or apothecaries and distribute them among your deathwatch teams. Troops would be a deathwatch kill team led by a vet sergeant and heavy support and fast attack would be variations on it. all will be bolstered by some nice wargear options.

Let me know what you think + any suggestions

thats basically what deathwatch are though.

but you could use wolf guard as a base, there more open choices of wargear and equipment suit deathwatch better, add some special ammunition and a move and fire heavy bolter and your done really.

They are action figures!

And yeah, as I said on the other thread, WG are a great stand in. Just use one of the I dexes and use a squad of decked out WG.

I think that its important to know what the models you are going to use is. For the deathwatch are you going to customize them or use some standard SM or GK armor.
Inquisitor Lok is a good model from Forge World.

There's an edit button on your original post. if you wish to post again, but somebody has not posted beneath yours, edit your original post.

Also - don't make the mistake of starting with Special Characters - i made that mistake with my Ordo Malleus, and spent too long on the special characters - in the end, I started balancing units for use with the Special Characters, rather than Special Characters balanced for use with the army.

Lastly, for something that means business, you've not even started. get a core down, then release. Look at feedback, etc.

Incidentally, I can pass you the publisher file (2007) to let you modify it - it's designed to follow the existing Codex layouts - and you're free to use the Inquisitor + henchmen layout - Daemonhosts should not be used though - for obvious reasons.

Thanks Vaz that would be most welcome. Sidran7e what id like is some way of using aliens as inquisitorial retinues and maybe some way of using that to boost your own forces. also GW sell a deathwtach kit so that's the one i'll use
