I bought a copy of the Apocalypse Expansion and I love the rules in it, however, my friends and I have no where near the amount of points it takes to play a game of Apocalypse, seeing as they can muster about 750pts a piece and me about 2k. So, we decided to look into City Fight seeing as that would be a very cool game to play and it would be possible to play it with less points.

I guess my real question is, what are your thoughts on City Fight and do you think a game of 750pts per side would be feasible?

While we're at it, here is my 750pt list I plan on using. I debating on whether to take a Mortar Squad of a Heavy Bolter Squad. I'm leaning towards Mortars as there is tons of terrain in a City Fight game though in a standard game they are Heavy Bolters. My third option is to take two Sentinels with Heavy Flamers.

HQ:

Senior Officer (Bolt Pistol, Power Weapon)
Lascannon
Grenade Launcher x 2

Mortar Squad

Troops:

Infantry Platoon
Junior Officer
Missile Launcher
Grenade Launcher x 2

Infantry Squad
Veteran Sergeant
Heavy Bolter
Flamer

Infantry Squad
Veteran Sergeant
Heavy Bolter
Flamer

Armored Fist Squad
Veteran Sergeant
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher

Chimera Transport
(Multilaser, Heavy Bolter, Extra Armour, Smoke Launchers)

Heavy Support:

Leman Russ Battle Tank
(Lascannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons)

Sure. That's really all I have to say. That would work quite fine. But WTF was the double posting for?

You may want to consider changing your Leman Russ to a Leman Russ Demolisher (if possible). Since a lot of anti tank weapons in Cities of Death tend to be very short-ranged, they're usually quite powerful (things like meltaguns and the like). Thus, having the extra points of armor on your side and bike could be a lifesaver.

Besides, it gives you the opportunity to take the Siege Shells strategem which is so cool it's worth taking by itself. ^^

Good luck,

i might actually go with the sentinels. they move through cover like infantry, which is huge since mobility, besides being key in terrain-heavy scenarios, is generally lacking for ig. additionally, the heavy flamers negate your opponent's cover. just a thought.

Demolishers are a bit too costly for such a low point level game. Perhaps if I ever play a game with a bit more points I will paint up the two I have sitting in my 'to paint' pile. My 1k list in standard games adds an Infantry Squad to the Platoon with a Missile Launcher, a Basilisk, and three Ratlings which I use Cadians with extended barrels and scopes on their Lasguns.

If I were to play 1k in Cities of Death/City Fight I would upgrade the Battle Tank to a Demolisher and switch the Basilisk to a Hellhound. Hmmm, that does leave the possibility in 750pts to switch the Battle Tank to a Hellhound and take three Heavy Flamer Sentinels.
