i am trying to build the most cheesy (or beardy) list
this is sorta kinda like a contest the winner will receive +rep

the rules are

1. it must be space marines (just regular space marines not black templer, dark angles, blood angles or space wolves.

2. the list must be 1000 points (not 500 not 2000, 1000 points.)

3. special characters are allowed.

4. it must conform to the following chart

1 HQ

0-1 ELITE

2-4 TROOPS

0-1 FAST ATTACK

0-1 HEAVY SUPPORT

0-1 FLOATER (HEAVY SUPPORT,FAST ATTACK,ELITE)

5. most of all it must help me win

For just plain cheese you could take Lysander+assualt terminators+landraider and take scouts as troops. or take Motf and get three dreads

How about building your own list?
Asking for some help is one thing, asking us to build you a list for +rep is another thing entirely.

That's kind of your problem. You need to learn. Just post a list and people will give you help where they can and maybe you will learn somthing. You shouldn't just expect people to do all the work for you.

here let me win real quick. 2 groups of 10 thunder hammer storm shield terminators with a librarian in terminator armor with like might and the flamer one. then 2 or 3 preds and what ever you want other than that. or maybe shrike with the termies. so you can outflank/infiltrate them.

20 thunder hammer + storm shield terminators. anybody should be able to win if your have any skill or tactics.

If you are trying to build a cheesy list with the codex marines, then Vulkan is your best bet. Melta/Flamer spam. You could try

HQ
Vulkan - 190pts

Elite
5x TH/SS Termies - 200pts
Dedicated transport: Land Raider redeemer+ multimelta and extra armor- 265pts

Troops
5x Marines+ Razorback- 130pts

5x Marines+ Razorback- 130pts

Fast attack
Land speeder with Multimelta+ Heavy flamer - 70pts

With 15 points left over for whatever. Not many models at 1000 points, but Termies and vulkan will be a tough nut to crack, and redeemer will annihilate MEQs provided it doesnt get bogged down too much.

Vulkan- 190pts

10x Marines, Melta, multimelta, combiflamer, rhino - 220pts

10x Marines, Melta, multimelta, combiflamer, rhino - 220pts

This list gives you 10 points left over I think ( I dont have a codex) to play with. This list has much more bodies, and has a lot more twin linked flamer/melta guns to work with.

that actually is pretty bad list if I ran a gaunt spam nid list all I have to do is focus two gaunt squads on each unit and most of them would die then finish them off with anything that doesn't have a I of 1

sounds great in theory, but is shit in practice

Rule of Warhammer if it's hard to kill throw dice at it

This thread makes me cry about people only wanting to win and not caring for a fun game...or even liking there armies.....Also build your own list trying to go "cheese" is just a jerk move.

Edit:Not to mention every list posted thus far would be schooled by eldar....or anything with power weapons that hit first.

Wow.... this approach to the game is just awful... I can certainly dig, "hey, I like Marines, but I don't understand what a good list looks like...." But, "please help me by making my list" is both LAZY and bad. Do you even understand what makes the "winner" list a good or bad one? Probably not.

It's like you are saying... "I want to play baseball, but everytime I throw the ball it goes the wrong way... could you just throw it for me..."

And for everyone who posted a list... shame on you for encouraging this foolishness.
