I was wondering if it was possible to build an Apocalypse army consiting entirely of orbital bombardments from the Daemon/Witchhunters codices, so being completely free in terms of money. Yes, I'm very cheap.

You could, but there wouldn't be any point in playing since it would be impossibl;e for the enemy to harm you.

Of course, it would also be impossible for you to claim any objectives

So, possible, but utterly pointless

Yea, the Masters of the Chapter. However, they are pretty cool in their own right, they grant skills to the army and accompny your Commander and command squad into battle. I have converted a couple of my own from some spare models, and have found them pretty effective

Ya want cheap? Build yourself an Armored Company from scratch using plasticard, card stock, or whatever. The AC 'dex is a free download, and the expense comes only from owning the relevant rule book(s). At the same time, its one of the best ways to enjoy all aspects of the hobby. Who needs to buy a tank when you can just build one yourself?

technically speaking, your army is wiped out when you have no models left on the table, and none in reserve.
therefore you would be wiped out the instant the game started, thus making that not a viable and legal army list.

as far as I am concerned there should be a 3 unit minimum consisting of at least one model each.

I suppose that takes care of the question, then-- there's no reason to take an army if you automatically lose.

There are inexpensive means to build an Apocalypse army. Heck, a Baneblade is 500 points all by its lonesome, and adding that to an existing 2000 point army leaves you with 500 points left to build. That's like two or three squads, tops. There's no reason you can't build the 1000 points for Apocalypse for about 200 USD, I don't think.

The thing that I've noticed a lot of people fudging is the 3000 point minimum. Using the Strategic Assets and superheavy tanks in 2000 points is a fair bit of fun, and the game doesn't last more than an hour since, well... baneblades are rather destructive.

i dont think so and it wouldnt be very fun would it i mean the whole
point of apocalypse is to have huge battles their is no point just having orbital bombardments:eek:k: i have to agree with THE SON OF HORUS as the game only last a small amount of time with 3000 points it doesnt have to be a 21000 points each game like what ive seen played before just three thousand will do as most of us have above 2000 point armies so we can just use super heavyies to fill up the spaces like the hellhammer or baneblade

You could do that but there would be pretty much no point in playing. It would be funny if you took like a squad of termies w/grandmaster and hid them some where so that there still is kind've a point in playing.

I wonder what games workshop would do if you went there and tried to play like that?:so_happy:

you wouldn't find any takers for your game or any game after 1rst time you did it. you have no way to win since you cannot control any asset counters.
it's those who want to play total cheese lists that ruin the fun for your opponents.
Have 2 guys in our store that always want to team up in apoc simply cause they are only ones in store w/baneblades and most tanks and flyers. no fun to play apoc if opp has way more formations and super heavies.
