Since my Night Lords have been completely nerfed by the new codex I am trying to put together a new 1500 point list that will be competitive, but without using the Lash. So as a 1st run through this is what I'm thinking of:

Daemon Prince: Wings, Mark of Tzeentch, Doom Bolt (160)

Terminators: 5 Terminators, 1 power Fist, Icon of Tzeentch (195)

Tactical Squad: 9 Marines, 1 Asp Champion, Power Fist, Meltagun, Icon of Slaanesh, Rhino with Daemonic Possession (275)

Tactical Squad: 9 Marines, 1 Asp Champion, Power Fist, Meltagun, Icon of Slaanesh, Rhino with Daemonic Possession (275)

Havocs: 8 Marines, 4 Autocannon, Chaos Glory (210)

Vindicator: Havoc Launcher, Daemonic Possession (160)

Raptors: 7 Raptors, Flamer, 1 Asp Champion, Twin Lightning Claws, Icon of Slaanesh (225)

Nice 4+ inv saves on the Termies and Prince, along with extra Int on the close combat units. Any C&C welcome. I was thinking of putting 2 identical princes in, but can't figure out what to drop to allow this.
To me it looks a bit light in anti-tank and a bit CC orientated without any real specialists in it. I don't want to end up with just another lash/oblit/sonic list, so any ideas appreciated

Ya know, I keep looking at this list and comparing it with my own lists for Eldar, IG, and SoBs and I really can't find a glaring weakness. It doesn't really fit my style, but I understand why you made the choices you did, and the list seems pretty solid. As long as you can get your units across the field to deal with armour, and your Termies, Prince, and Rhino Squads can do that pretty well at 1500pts, then you'll be just fine. I like the inclusion of the Autocannon Havocs. Chaos Glory is the best Icon for them in my opinion as well. I'm not that big a fan of Vindicators, but it is a good choice in most Chaos lists. The only choice I'm really iffy on is the Flamer for the Raptors. I'd rather see some sort of anti-tank here as well, just in case you end up on a flank with too many vehicles and not enough infantry.

I was thinking that I probably don't need possession on the rhinos for a bolter shot, so if I put extra armour on instead that saves me 10 points and I can use them for a couple of combi-meltas on the termies. Gives them a whole load more zing when they drop in.

I think you are better off without extra armour even. When it was 5pts it was a no brainer but now that it is 15 it is not worth it. It only affects 1 out of 6 rolls anyway when it gets down to it. Run your rhinos naked at 35pts and use the extra 40 you save from possession to pick up a couple more meltaguns if possible. Also, don't forget that the tzeentch prince can take (and cast) two powers. Maybe consider warptime or bolt of change for him.

All in all though it is a decent list I think.
