I'm slowly working my way round to getting all the codexs so i know the rules of all the armys, however i found my self thinking "I have an old Chaos Sourser that i made for a store conversion contest(he came 4th by the way out of 40+) and i could proxy the rest"
So i wrote up a list for me to proxy for the time being. I'll show it and then explain it and how i will proxy it.

Chaos Sorcerer w/ Terminator Armour, Gift of Chaos - 145pts
10 Chaos Marines w/ MM, Meltagun, PF - 210pts
10 Chaos Marines w/ 2 Flamers, PS - 190pts
2 Obliterators - 150pts
5 Termintors w/ 2 PF, Reaper Autocannon - 205pts
2 Rhinos w/ Havoc Launchers - 100pts

Total - 1000pts
I have the Sorcerer and the Chaos marines will jsut me normal marines equiped as WYSIWYG. The Terminators will be 2 thunder hammers(fists), 2 Lightning claws(swords) and a normal Black reach Termintor(reaper). Rhinos are normal rhinos and the obliterators will be what ever i can find on that size bace as with any Chaos Spawn that i spawn tho keeping note.

What do you people think?

it looks like a fun list to play but its not gonna win that much i suggest some plague marines
there almost a must and also a deamon prince can be used effectively as a psyker

Lose the reaper autocannon. Too much pnts and you have Oblits.
Sorcerer, lose the termi armor. grab jump pack/wings. (make moving him easier)
Add mark of nugle. (help toughness)
Other than that your list looks good.

he can't lose the termie armor; the models is set up as is and it appears he's making a list out existing models.

right.

give the Sorc. a mark. MoT would be the most logical here, IMO, since it would improve his 5++ to a 4++.

i would drop one PF and the Reaper AC to give your (again, if you have the models available or the ability to change the models you already have) termies HF and combi-weaponry.

the first CSM squad should have two melta guns if possible.

both CSM squads should have icons so you can deepstrike termies or Oblits as neeeded. i'd also give them marks: IoCG, IoK, IoS are all good and not too pricey.

drop the Havok Launchers from the rhinos.

good hunting.

ok how about this revampet list;
Chaos Sorcerer w/ Terminator Armour, Gift of Chaos, Mark of Tzeentch - 175pts
10 Chaos Marines w/ x2 Meltagun, Icon of Glory - 195pts
10 Chaos Marines w/ 2 Flamers, Icon of Khorne - 205pts
2 Obliterators - 150pts
5 Termintors w/ 2 PF, 2 Combi-meltas, Heavy flamer - 205pts
2 Rhinos - 70pts

Total - 1000pts
- Droped Reaper for Heavy flamer and 2 Combi-meltas
- Droped PF for Icon of Glory to protect agianst tankshock
- Droped Power sword for Icon of Khorne for more power in combat
- Mark of tzeentch for Sorcerer
- Droped Havoc launchers

So how about now then?
*Bang on the nose "Inquisitor Malaclypse". Don't have Plagune marines and thos i would like them proxying them will be a bitch. Can't proxy the Sorcerer or Prince at all other than Sourcerer in T armour or a normal Lord with possibly daemon weapon.

pretty decent based on your limitations.

you could indeed make any kind of CSM army as long as the models don't have a bolt pistol and chainsword modeled on.

just say the army are pre-Heresy Death Guard that went to the wrong body shop when their armor got painted. there's nothing that says that a Nurgly models MUST be covered in sores, pus, and pestilence. what if the armor is covering that?

point is you could even try a TSons army with your proxies. consider those options if you'd like, but this list is pretty good.

lack of PW and PF in your CSM could be a bad thing, but just be careful you don't get in base to base contact with certain walkers, MC's, and most HQ's.

good hunting.

if you got 4th in a conversion contest you must be pretty good with green stuff, so make the PM with that, CSMs with sompe pus or pox, maybe some tentacles!

actually i'm crap and didn't even use any green stuff. He jsut looked bad ass tho the person who won was a marine with an extrened flamer and stuff.

i think given your restrictions and the like, your second list is probably the best bet. at 1000 points you shouldn't be facing too many MC's or heavy armor so i wouldn't worry too much. i'm actually thinking about dropping the mark of Khorn for an icon of chaos glory, then swapping gifts of chaos on the sorcerer for warptime and use left over points for doombolt to give you more killy sorcerer. since he's tzeentch, he should have no issue using both powers a turn when he get into the thick of it.

gifts of Chaos? :(

I love that little power.

I play tested it today agianst eldar and it worked out quite well tho i did lose by a narrow margine(dam 10 Wraithguard at 1000pts is annyoing)

I agree you could use icons. Terminators and oblits mean there is a lot for your opponent to deal with. Icons let you deepstrike those termis and oblits. I would equip them for close combat and drop them after you rush that flamer squad at the enemy. Sorcerer with mark of Tzeentch, termi armour, warptime and winds of chaos is trouble if he gets deepstriked on you.

the problem with gifts is that it is points costly, for something that has such a short range. it has a slim margine of chance to actually remove a model and make a spawn, and should it do so you best hope your not playing kill points. i prefer reliability.

as for eldar....their all T 3 anyways, take it up agenst orks, or marines and tell me how you feel about it then.
