We all are familiar with the shitty Champion of Chaos special rule, which makes our champions and characters sucidal and predictable. Also, the Boon of mutation option is never buyed for the models, due to the randomness of it and exorbitant cost.
This is my take at it, aiming to givethis hurtful rule at least a bright side and hoping to make the boon a more useful and convenient part of our lists.

Criticism as always welcome:

Champion of Chaos:
add this statements "An Independent Character with this special rule, before deployment, must roll on the Chaos Boon Table once, rerolling any 11-22 and 65-66 result"
"If a model with this rule kills an enemy characters with a greater number of Wounds on the profile than he has, he can reroll a 11-16 result on the table roll."

(this basically gives a small buff to every IC with the rule, representing years of chaos servitude. Note that in case of the Dark Apostle, he may reroll this roll too.)

Boon Table Amendments:
A model transforming into a Daemon Prince as per roll 65-66 retains his previous Chaos Artefacts and retains a Power Armour, if it was listed in his equipment. If the Character had Mastery Levels, he retains those as well. (thanks again @MidnightSun) All other equipments and previous boons are lost.

Gift of Mutation:
Reduce cost to 5 pts.

---So, what do you think?---

GLORY TO CHAOS!!

Boon of Mutation at 2pts is absurdly cheap, and I think the Daemon Prince should retain all of his equipment and Mastery Levels with the exception of Terminator Armour. Apart from that, pretty neat.
About the pricing: me also thinks 2pts is too cheap... but i can't really get my mind around a way to make players want to buy it...you think 5 points is good enough?

About the Prince...you are right!!! I forgot about mastery levels! Argh! But all the equipment could become risky: blight grenades, meltabombs, sigils of corruption...basically a better daemonprince?
I'd say mastery levels, relics and armour save 3+.
OR open up princes to sigils of corruption, familiars, "mortal" equipment?

I guess you could say his grenades disappear, because his hands are now way too big to use them, but if the Warp can turn a human (well, close enough) into a giant winged demon, then I'm pretty sure it can scale a sword up - he should keep all his gear other than any grenades.

At that point i'd rather gave the DP access to the ramoury too.
So we could say he retains all of what he had, because you could buy it in the first place.
Just rambling but hear me: option for DP equipments to be added in his entry:
Frag Grenades: 15 pts (the gaming impact is HUGE. You have to pay for that)
Meltabombs: 5 pts (gamewise he is using those like a sorceror would..so..)
Sigil of corruptions:15 (he already has a 5+)
Blight grenades, only if Nurgle daemon, same as usual.
Combat familiar: 5 pts (extra shitty attacks, still exytra attacks, reduced price due to...general uselessness)
spell familiar, as usual.
Combiweapon: 10 pts
Extra cc weapon: 10 points (extra attack, always handy)
power weapon (basically maul or axe for the extra strenght), power fist, lightning claw, as usual. ( i'd make him pay the same price since even he already has AP2, the effect are magnified by his basic Str 6. Which is nasty if paired with lightning claws).
This has derailed the post but might be worth considering for future amendments...

This isn't *quite* threadomancy, I think, since this is still in living memory, but I disagree that you should be able to buy your DP upgrades straight off the bat. Yeah, I know, it would make sense in fluff, but I just don't think you can get the balance right with an armoury system giving a Monstrous Creature access to the same wargear as a regular infantry dude, character though they be.

I quite like the idea that you keep your gear and turn into a Prince - it's always seemed to work well in Fantasy (well, except the time I spawned my 400pt Lord into a Daemon Prince which slingshotted him out of his unit and he promptly got Shriek'd to death by Terrorgheists, one of the very few hard counters to a WoC Prince).
