Dear Heretics, Oldman is feeling brave and is thinking of doing some scratch building and conversions for vehicles, turrets and the like, and would like some advice from the modelling masters amongst you. Which material do you prefare using cardstock or sheet styrene plastic and why and which would recommend for a beginner? As always thanks in advance hugs n kisses Oldman!

Would go with sheet styrene plastic as it's is pretty solid and simple to cut and shape.

Sheet styrene, Its as easy to use as card, far more durable, takes paint without warping, glues the same as plastic models, its great stuff very versatile.

Agreed plasticard all the way. It's more solid, won't warp with paint or washes, can have battle damage cut into it more easily without going fibrous and can be stripped like any other plastic model if you mess up the paint scheme.
The only thing I tend to use card for is adding detailing to flat walls on buildings. Usually the building will be something more durable than card.
