The following is an account of the combat capabilities of the Cadian 72nd 9th Company. I understand the company is known affectionately as the ‘Night Stalkers’ by the men. The regiment was raised in 5230965 M.41 in Segmentum Obscurus on Cadia itself. The regiment spent 8 years training within the Eye of Terror, most notably within the Agripinaa sector on the Hive world Tabor, Forge world Finreht before being shipped to the Penal world Bar-el where the regiment gained supplemental auxiliary units in the form of Penal colonists. As part of the training the Regiment underwent in the highly urbanised areas of Agripinaa and Tabor; the Regiment utilises a large number of sniper rifles.

In 5640977 M.41 the Regiment assigned to the super heavy troop transport =][= INQUISITION PURGED =][= destined for the Armageddon sub-sector, Segmentum Solar to bolster the clean up efforts following the aftermath of the Second War for Armageddon. The Regiment spent 3.8 terran years during transit over a number of warp jumps. The Regiment spent an unconfirmed total of 4.5 terran years in transit before reaching the Armageddon sub-sector.

Upon arrival in the Armageddon sector the Regiment was split up. Elements of the Regiment were transported to the Minerva, Pyran, Noctan and Armageddon systems. The 9th Company was sent to Hive Archeon whereupon it engaged in Ork clearance in the depths of the hive along with Companies 10-15. After Ghazghkull’s initial invasion, several Ork warband elements had percolated into the depths of the Hive and had begun killing hivers after the Ork’s numbers grew following a period of several years.

Presently, the 9th Company consists of three platoons: Gamma (the company command platoon), Alpha and Omega. Attached are three veteran squads, resultant from the extensive Ork fighting within the Hive depths, a veteran sniper squad, one Armoured Fist squad, two Sentinels, a Hellhound and one Leman Russ Battle Tank. Due to the prolonged engagement with the Orks in Hive Archeon, the 9th Company has become adept at combating Orks in hand-to-hand combat and moving through the broken debris of the shattered areas of the Hive depths. Due to the environs of Hive Archeon, the Company has become prolific in navigating areas of ruined urban areas.

The Company was already engaged in Ork Hunting in the depths of Hive Archeon when the first alarm was raised when Ghazghkull’s second invasion of Armageddon. The Company fought within the confines and at the perimeter of the Hive against the Orks who swarmed across
=][= INQUISITION PURGED =][= from their drop site when they headed to the Hive. The Company saw initial success, utilising the urban environment to their advantage but suffered heavy losses with increasing numbers of Orks. The heaviest losses were from the 11th Company, caught off guard by an Ork assault from previously thought inaccessible sewer network.

I really like two things about this:

1) The Imperial Perspective they use in reports and that kind of stuff

2) =][= INQUISITION PURGED =][=
