... after an unintentional hiatus!
Hi!
So, back in January I got an email from Jezlad, warning... erm, informing... informing me about the site.
Thought that, now that I'm actually working on hobby-related stuff again, I'd pop in and get in the ground floor.
I was away from the hobby for over a year and a half, after a catastrophic move that cost me an enormous Catachan-based I.G. army, a small-but-growing Space Marine force of my own creation (I was going to call them "The Sons of Thunder") and a fairly ugly greenskin horde for WHFB.
So, things finally turning around for me, I've decided to start back in with 40K, and to do it in a big way: with an army I've never done anything with before!
After picking up the Tau Empire codex, I got hooked on all the sleek lines, cutting-edge tech, and, of course, all the ugly little auxilliaries they have available.
I'm starting off fairly small, but I'm satisfied with how it's all coming together. I really miss my I.G., so my Tau have quite a lot of Camo and Catachan Green in thier color scheme. Hopefully soon, I'll get some pics to put up here, and share my work with everyone.
I got started in the hobby a long time ago (back in the '80s) simply as a miniature-painting rpg-player. It wasn't until my Air Force days down in Florida that I stumbled into Necromunda and really found out what all those minis were really, truly meant for!
So, yeah, Necromunda was my "Gateway Drug" as it were.
Right now, I don't know a single person in my area that actually plays any games, so by the time my new army is where I'm happy with it, I might actually have found someone to play against.
I need you all to know that I'm only about half-way crazy, but I'm on my meds (most of the time... heh heh heh) so I promise I won't be too odd.
