Just updated to Ab3, but I'm having trouble getting used to the new system. For a start, I have no freaking clue how to make it show me special characters.

Anyone know how to do it? I've tried playing with the filters and whatnot, but I can;t find any special character filters

it's in the rules which is the clipboard with a "check mark" on it. It comes up on the army selection pop up or its in the roster build page too

Do you have any idea how to get a model count with ab3? It is the only thing that annoys me, as on the whole it is a lot better.

top right, little octagon button. hit it once and it'll do a drop down menu. Hit roster statistics and a pop up will come up. Hit ok and you can see all the statistics on your roster.

here's a new wrinkle:

Fiddling with the new DA rules. How do I set it up for deathwing/ravenwing? I added sammael to the roster, but ravenwing squads still showed up as fast attack. Do I just design as normal and ignore the composition errors, or is there some setting I need to use in order to do the list up proper?

as far as i know, the new DA aren't set up in AB3 yet. The last update I see was the one i got on the 2nd of March and that one hadn't had it yet. Is there a newer one I haven't seen yet?

Updated just the other day. Oddly, it wasn't on the list of files that I could pick from when I undated through the program, but all I had to do was download it and open it with exporter and poof, undated.

Found it, it's under the roster tab when you select the ravenwing squad, you can check it to count as troops.

Though now I'm noticing other bugs with the general SM list.

for one, it'll let me select a techmarine with servo harness and jump pack, but it won;t let me select one with servo harness and bike. (if you select harness it takes away the bike option, bit if you select bike first you can still select harness, but it gives you a composition error)

I find it funny that it works fine with a JP/harness, but not bike.

Also I noticed that Sergeants with Terminator Honors do not have Power Fist as an armory option, but it does list a single LC (but not two) at 15 points, which is not the correct price for a single LC.

Weirdness.

Keep in mind Gal that the ab3 files are always works in progress. Any bugs you find, please put them in the bug tracker so the maintainers can fix them. Once they do that, we betatesters get new builds continuously to try and break. Chaos and Tau, Necrons and a few others are relatively bug free but anything newer will still have some bugs that we didn't spot. Generally, there is only one or two people who are testing out a single armylist (Chaos and Tau are mine along with one other tester) so it is more than possible for bugs to slip through.

they;re working on it. Besides, they have the LC in there at the right price for the PF, just switch it out and make a note

they just updated today, fixed some dark angels issues, and added techmarine bikes and put powerfists back in.

Very impressive response time.

Clearly you've never seen me make a list by hand :roll:

AB is a great tool for quickly throwing together a fairly bug free armylist or just seeing what different options will cost you without whipping out the calculator. I won't go without it.

It's my "what if" machine. Lets me kick new ideas around, particularly with new codices. I've pretty much got the BA/SM dexes down in my head,m but tau, dark angels, etc

I'm not saying I need it to make a list, hell I can whip up a decent blood angels list without my books handy, but it makes kicking new ideas around quicker and easier
