[Pyromanic Tendencies]

Just bought a Carnifex, and I was wondering how to arm it.

I need a little more long-range shooty power, so I was going to go with :

Enchanced Senses
x1 twin linked Deathspitter
x1 Barbed Strangler

What do you guys think? All right, or terrible? Would I be better of giving it a Venom Cannon? Any help would be good.

i always give mine a venom cannon and a barbed strangler, and ehnanced senses. i cant see the point of giving it a deathspitter, when the venom cannon is one of the two ranged weapons which can crack open a landraider.

i thought they were better in combat than sitting back and shooting.

nope, they take 3 turns to get to combat and then only have somthing like 3 or 4 attacks. theyre much better used for much needed nid shooting

enough vc carni shots is a scary thing against anything, either ID or tearing up armor

Admittedly, they can be useful in close combat. The most effective carnifexes I've seen have been the ones that are packing a pair of twin-linked deathspitters with enhanced senses. While it won't crack open armor, it does do something equally useful--- thin out squads to be overrun by gaunts.

Thanks guys. I all ready have one 'Fex for Close Combat, with Crushing Claws, Sything Talons and Scythe Tail, so the prospect of 11 attacks on th charge ain't to shabby.

SO, you're saying a Venom Cannon woul be better?
