If I remember correctly there is a story about them having their ass kicked by the Tyrandis in a White Dwarf... If I remember correctly it was in Januarys number, or what ever the time of year was when the `Nids got the new codex...

Read "Dead Sun Black Sky" and "Storm of Iron". Both are good stories, and both give an inside view on the workings of the Iron Warriors (main villain in DSBS is an underling in SoI). They're prideful siege specialists, who have a long standing hatred of Rogal Dorn and his progeny. Iron Warriors will not hesitate to fight the sons of Dorn unless they have some secret agenda they need to meet. In Storm of Iron, they get to fight some Imp Fists, but the golden marines of Dorn are few and young, compared to the Iron Warriors...

I 2nd that^ both books are great reads. The WarSmith in Storm of Iron is really cool and Honsou, he is another cool char. Iron Warriors=brutal assault. All kinds of nasty chaos goes down in Storm of Iron!

they infect there members with the obliterator virus
the Techno Virus is used on anyone who the sorcerer's can minipulate into being there mindless victim. there is even cases where the body is a weapon that morphs into the victims weapon of choice.

listen if you want to learn about the warriors try finding a pdf of the 3rd edition codex, also try picking up storm of iron and the other one black sky dead sun ive read both and they are awesome books. youll probably have a hq that you call Honsou or Kroeger.

The Iron Warriors and the Imperial Fists were very competitve when before the heresy. Perturabo's special ability that made him stand out beyond the other primarchs was his overwhelming siege tactics, his cold hearted logic, andhis genius in technology which was second to none.

The Imperial Fists were the more loveable legion so they got more attention while the Iron Warriors got shitty jobs like have the long gruelling sieges as well as the task of baby sitting imperial planets and splitting their legion into bits and yet still remaining loyal to the Emperor.

Perturabo (the Iron Warrior Primarch) was told by Horus that his world had rebelled. This set Perturabo over the edge as he tried to make himself and his legion the most loyal legion by doing all those stupid chores, and now his planet was the only planet in which a primarch was from that had rebelled. He returned to his planet with a cold hearted vegence and killed millions in his genocide. After this, his legion and himself had finally been broken down with grieve and hatred to its fullest. They were basically tired with trying to please the emperor so they joined Horus.

Perturabo isn't really talked about much in the Heresy so far. But after, he tricked Rogal Dorn into the "Iron Cage" incident in which had his final victory to prove he was better than him. Rogal Dorn and the rest of his Imperial Fists were saved from anihilation from an ultramarines fleet that rescued them. This left Dorn a broken man.

The Iron Warriors retreated to the eye differently than most chaos legions. Because they were legions that liked to fortify they seemed to fight for their planets before they were destroyed. Olympia for example took two years to destroy. But slowly and slowly they had been pushed off the Imperium. They still have many worlds but their main planet is Medrengard. Peturabo was elevated to daemon prince after kicking Dorn's ass and sits on his thrown filled with hatred with himself.

Books: I was personally pretty disapointed at how Graham McNeill ended Honsou's journey. But I guess they did a lot with only 400 actual Iron Warriors. The Chapter's Due was the dumbest thing I ever read. But Storm of Iron, Dead Sky, Black Sun (without the stupid Ultramarine Ending), and Iron Warrior were good books.

He died preventing the 1st Black Crusade from even making it past the Cadian Gate.

Now Fulgrim- he died like a little bitch.
ouch right through the heart!
no remorse from that last comment.
the reason i posted that died like a bitch comment is because my cousin is a die hard Iron warriors player. 10 year veteran of the game and reads fluff, so im sure he is mad that puterbo didnt have the opportunity to grasp dorns neck and strangle him to death. i kinda have carried that grudge with me aswell.

The reason for my comment about Fulgrim is that he died like a little bitch...

Gave his body to a daemon, didn't even have enough strength of character to commit suicide.

The Iron Warriors are probably the most powerful of the remaining Chaos Legions, with untold quantities of materiel and at least one thousand additional cloned marines. The problem is, Perturabo has effectively given up; Medrengard is literally impenetrable, and he's not striking out at the Imperium. Either he's grown tired of trying to get revenge on the Imperium, or just wants to be left alone.

A large portion of the Iron Warriors didn't like this idea, and have struck out on their own forming large warbands. Unfortunately due to their inherent distrust and paranoia, none of them can trust the other; only Perturabo has the clout to unite the entire Legion. As such the Iron Warriors are only scattered thorns in the Imperium's hide.

You mean most powerful Legion other than the Black Legion and, possibly, the Word Bearers?
