My C: Drive is like 99% Full... is it safe for me to just copy like 50gb of stuff into a different disk like D: or E:?

Need a heads up!

Thanks in advance :D

Note: Didn't know where to put this, move if you want. :)

That really depends if you have any extra hard drives. If you have a D: and E: drive with enough space available, then yes it would be fine.

If not then i'd do as loyalist says and get a cheap external.

I'd recommend moving media first as it won't cause any issues when moving it around.

yeah, it should be safe, just make sure you move stuff like any films and music first, then any documents and downloads,, just be carefull if you try and move programs around (like games and so on) as they may stop working afterwards

I have all of my programs on E: and all of my documents and media on C: with anything important backed up onto an External. No problem.

Everything everyone else said is true too.

Make sure you haven't got any automatic-backup type programs (Windows Backup and Norton Backup being the two most common offenders) running in the background, if you have they could well be duplicating saved files etc. and filling up your HDD space.

Yeah, never move the programs, because that mucks the registry right up. I would always reccomend getting an External Hard drive for things like Movies pics etc. Just takes up faaar too much space. Plus, you can access it on anything ;).

Also, if you're trying to save space, try compressing massive png files, into more manageable JPEG files ;D.

You have a few options.

- Buy an external HDD
- Buy an internal HDD
- Burn your data to CD or DVD
- Compress files you dont access regularly (photos etc)
- Disable system restore, and delete any restore points
- Uninstall any unwanted programs/games
- Try doing a defrag
- Delete temporary internet files, cookies, cache, etc
- Delete your porn folder
